Stocked pond for the locals to spend a leisure afternoon fishing! Whether alone or with the family surely to have a good time! Opens at dawn and closes at dusk!

Great spot. This is a wonderful and serene location. Nice and quiet when we were there .Enjoyable outdoors and well kept. Nice area to walk around and enjoy some pleasant time alone or with the company of your family

Not a bad little pond if you want to do a small little fishing after work. It gets fished out real quick after they stock it with trout.

Cow Pond has a few picnic tables and porta-potties but that's about it. It's busy when stocked with trout in the spring. There's a few fishermen during the summer but it's usually limited to a few people killing time or a picnic lunch. We used to feed the geese in the fall before that was prohibited. The perfect place to get out and stretch but that's about it. Stopped to see what was being caught but no other reason to go there. It's not an attraction. The park area closes at dusk.

We decided to add this to our Saturday travel plans. Not really anything special to go out of the way for. Maybe a place to have a picnic?

This is about an acre pond that is flat all the way around. To a small child - it probably looks enormous.
But it's still close enough to the car to be an easy walk for the little ones. And it is stocked, so they should be able to actually catch something, and feel the thrill of fishing.
It is right off Main Street at the north end of Elkton, and has a lot of parking. There is also a covered picnic area to enjoy.
Recently there were improvements to the flood control areas, of which the cow pond is actually a part of. Access was only limited during the upgrades, so you can still walk with the kids around the pond and fish wherever they want.

The Cow Pond which is also called Howard's Pond Park is a very nice place to take an easy stroll if one likes nature. We did talk to fishermen but none were very successful. We enjoyed watching the many turtles and other critters. A covered picnic area is provided and the area is reasonable tidy.
