Great nature destination. You can’t go wrong visiting here. Plenty of wildlife and plants to explore. We didn’t bring our teens here, but we will when we return

Check this place out if you are a nature lover and see the sights and sounds of the Audubon of the Eastern Shore part of Maryland. The views of the water, creeks, and marshes, while taking in the wildlife is so friendly to the heart, you will want to stay there for a while.

Expected more birds. Outside our hotel, we have 15 Canadian Geese. They would be better off at Audobon Center.

Follow the trails thru the meadows and by the ponds. Path starts by the driveway you entered by next to the farm building on the right leaving.

Thank you for your review of Pickering Creek Audubon Center! Be sure to also check out the forested trail that begins behind the building labeled Welcome Center (turning right at the first opportunity) that will lead you along a trail through mature woodlands and along the creek, leading you down to the waterfront!

Once you find this place, you will be rewarded with wild, natural beauty everywhere. There is a brochure at the welcome stand that will help you find the trails, most of which are shorter than 1.5 miles. The entire area is wild, with an abundance of native plants and shrubs. There are benches placed strategically so that you can rest and just soak in all the sounds and sights. There are observation platforms that offer some breathtaking perspectives.. There is also a waterman's shanty and deck that is interesting. At one end of the center, at the end of a very narrow ( watch for oncoming cars and hope you see a place to pull over) road is the main office, near the waterman's shanty, and a few trails that have water views as you stand on the higher trails. Bring along bug spray, sturdy shoes ( the trails are quite easy on the feet), cameras and binoculars. This is a place where you will want to take the time to look, smell and hear at leisure.

We recently moved to Easton and were looking for trails nearby home and came across this area. The trails are not very long which makes them ideal for those with little ones. There's lots of water fowl and we even saw a beaver on our walk! They also have canoes! Nice place to take a leisurely stroll, but do take the bug spray...at least until the first frost...chiggers and tics abound.

This is a large property that has been dedicated to education. There is a steady stream of school busses during the school year, and they have a wide variety of programs for the K-12 group. It is also a fine place for a morning or evening "nature walk" if you are into that kind of thing. Seasonally, there is very good bird watching as the result of the many habitats that have been created, and it is a great place just to walk in peace and quiet surrounded by the wondors of nature.
