It's an idea of life in England a hundred years ago ! It's very well preserved and still functions as a Town Hall . The opening hours are limited .

While visiting friends in nearby Littlebourne, they took us to Fordwich, officially the smallest town (not village), in all of England. The unique Town Hall was built during the reign of Henry VIII and it alone was worth the trip. If you're meandering in Kent, make a side trip to Fordwich

Prompted by its appearance on a recent edition of Countryfile to commemorate 400 years since the death of Shakespeare, we decided to walk around this area which was unknown to us. We detoured from the walk to check if the Town Hall which featured on the programme was open. Being a Bank Holiday Monday it was but not until 1.30.... More

Old, quirky and beautiful venue for a small wedding. Lots of history and very helpful staff made this small wedding venue absolutely fantastic for our day.

Being a lover of architecture I saw this little building sitting in the window of the Fordwich Arms and decided to come back the following day to visit. I was not disappointed. The lady that showed me around was so lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. I felt a little concerned for her as it was such a cold day. These old... More

I have visited the town hall but don't remember seeing as much as we did this time. A film was shown downstairs explaining everything the Townhall had been used for. Then after viewing that area and seeing an old ducking stool, we went outside viewed the inside old gaol and the stocks, then went upstairs to look around seeing the... More

if you fancy a trip out a little way from Cantetbury it's well worth visiting this village and having lunch in one of the pubs. The Fordwich Arms is nearest and my favourite. You'll not regret the trip out, especially if you like farm shops as an extra treat.

For a small (the smallest) town Fordwich has packed a lot into its history, and there is nowhere better to find out than in this fascinating little building. The building is full of fascinating artefacts and the friendly custodians can tell you all about them and how they they relate to the building's civic functions. Fordwichians (?) are a very... More
