We were fortunate to be the only ones there just after they opened on a weekday. The lady asked if we would like a tour. Saying yes, made all the difference! She gave us insights to many of the items on display, as well as, a comprehensive history of the development of the railroad and town. It was quite interesting!

The small size of museum and train theme caters to young families. However if you take the time to read through signage, there is a lot to interest adults as well. Great place to stop in if you are in the area

Bring your kids down to find out about the old railway....it's a great educational experience...The authentic train shows the history of the train. Everyone enjoyed it.

Close to the bay for views, could be difficult for parking, an easy walk to nearby restaurants and stores. A good variety of the mentioned necessary shopping facilities.

Two weeks ago I went fishing with Rod n' Reel at Chesapeake Beach, MD. I had such a good time I returned to the Beach yesterday. We visited the Railway Museum right next to Rod n' Reel, a small museum that does a terrific job telling us about the railroad that connected the Chesapeake Western Shore to Washington DC. from... We were staying at the Chesapeake Resort and went over to check out the museum. The lady there was very friendly and loved what she did - showed us around and explained in detail the pictures and artifacts. Never knew anything about this railroad from DC to Chesapeake Beach.. Do not miss this museum when visiting Chesapeake Beach.

This is more like a freestanding train that you can walk through at your convenience. It was fun for the children to see an old train, but calling it a museum is a stretch.

This museum was very focused on the days of the rail line to this resort in times gone by. Examples of swim wear of the times were on display.
