We are soooo glad we came. Herons, osprey and bald eagles were just some of the wildlife we saw. It was breathtaking. Take the tour for a $3 donation. It was truly amazing.

I spent the entire day at Black water to be able to experience early morning and late afternoon birdind. There is never a disappointment in experiencing the shifting habbitat . The shore birds, waterfowl, osprey nesting and the Bald Eagles are a spectacle to behold.

This wildlife refuge is very large. There is little or no staff to guide you and you will want to be mindful of your location if you leave the main road. In fact, a newcomer to the area might want to avoid the night hours!...More

Black water was a beautiful and peaceful way to spend the afternoon. We enjoyed all of the scenic views and even saw an eagle in its nest!

Went in February. Highly recommend. Saw lots of wildlife. If you only have a short amount of time, you can drive through in about 20 minutes and see a lot.
