The Roundhouse has come a long ways from its hand-to-mouth early days as a children's theater in the '80s! They have a permanent and impressive home in Bethesda with convenient parking. Their productions are all for adults, and the shows are quite good. We went to see Angels in America...terrific acting, sensational staging, and more. Our only concern was having... More

My twenty year old son and I really enjoyed this show put on by the Happenstance Theater troupe at the Round House Theater on June 30. It was very affordable, the parking was easy (underground garage), the venue was very appealing. The acting and singing was very entertaining. The set design and costumes were very creative. We will definitely attend... More

Moxie: A Happenstance Vaudeville, which opened last night at Bethesda’s Round House Theatre, is a total delight. Moxie is expertly conceived and executed with six talented performers singing, cavorting, and making mischief throughout the evening with Artistic co-Directors Mark Jaster and Sabrina Mandell at the helm. Karen Hansen, Gwen Grastorf, Sarah Olmsted Thomas, and Alex Vernon round out the company.... More

Saw the final production of "The Who and the What" matinee. There is no bad seat in the theatre - although described as round - the theatre is not really in the round. It is a smallish theatre - there is no bad set in the house. The acoustics could be improved or it may be that the mike is... More

We are long time subscribers to Round House and continue to renew our tickets each year for many reasons: ~ Producing Artistic Director Ryan Rilette has a long and successful record of choosing thought provoking plays that range from serious drama to comedic. In addition to scheduling classics such as "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" (March-April 2016), Mr. Rilette... More

Round House is by now a settled institution for drama in the DC area, and the theater in Bethesda is one of the nicest and most convenient places to see a play. But not all productions are really top notch, so wait until at least the middle of the run and check the reviews before you put your money down.... More

Just went to our first show at the Round House Theatre and was very impressed with the production. The staff was wonderful, the production was top notch, and we had a great time. This is a great venue and Bethesda is lucky to have this gem. I will look for other opportunities to came back.

Mrs Too and I returned to Round House Theater for a matinee performance of Oliver! The Musical. This event was actually produced by Adventure Theater Musical Training Center which apparently put the show on at Round House as a tenant. ATM did an absolutely first rate job of staging the musical, making it abundantly clear why they desired the best... More

I've now been to two productions at the Round House Theatre. I guess I had a bit of a snobby bias against local theater, but I don't any more. Both productions were of excellent quality. It's small and intimate, so I really felt like I could see and hear everything. Seats are close enough to the actors to appreciate the... More

Ben and Mrs Too opted ro spend a wet, cold, nasty Sunday afternoon catching a matinee performance of Anton Chekov’s “Uncle Vannya” at Round House Theater. The performance was the premiere of a version written by Annie Baker. Her rendition is intended to bring the dialogue into twenty first century English, and certainly does indeed, graciously and with considerable wit.... More
