Wells Beach is great to drive by and watch the waves for a while. We had a picnic on the sand and found it to be comfortable and relaxing. Personally I enjoy Short Sands Beach more because of the local attractions. Ogunquit has a better beach as well. Ogunquit has a quaint village feel which makes going to the beach... More

Go here all the time. Summer - Winter weather permitting. Love watching the waves when a storm is on the way. Or just sitting on the beach listening to the waves.

Even in winter this is a beautiful beach. If you like the cold and New England feel this is a great place to visit when in the area. Parking is tough so if you can walk or bike that is better.

Public parking at end of Mile road. Walk north and you come to breakwater & channel with more public parking and boat ramp. Walk south and you can go just as far. Lots of rocky areas to investigate and some small pools at low tide.

Go every summer in late Aug to early September. Very picturesqued. Always great for walking. We walk almost every day, then sit and have coffee. Always beautiful. Sometimes the water is pretty cool, considering it's summer (used to it tho, since we are New Englanders from way back). Sometimes get to see a seal or two as we enter from... More

I reached the beach riding from Ogunquit, following the ocean route. The beach is very nice, there is enough place and it is not crowdy. It is also a nice spor to take pictures of the rising moon.

Love the free parking when you can get it and a nice long beach to walk. Love the rocks on the beach. Fun to find sealife.

Watching the sun rise over the beach has been on my bucket list for some time now. We decided on Wells Beach because of its extremely close proximity to our hotel (half a mile). Because its the winter, the sun rose around 7:12 am, and while quite cold extremely beautiful. the waves were crashing, the birds were flying and the... More

We came is January and it was FREEZING! But it was expected. If you plan to walk, check the tides and bundle up! The sand is packed so it is easy to walk on and there are some rocks where our kids climbed. I bet it is an amazing beach to swim and lie out at during the summer.

Took a winter stroll on the beach. Saw lots of snowmen build by other people. Walk was very pretty for a winter holiday visit. Trying to walk off lunch. Then going to light house near by. Never saw snow on the beach before. It was always white sand. Something different.
