Rumford Falls is one of the best things about Rumford. It's a pretty area, especially in the fall. The foliage was just a little past peak but still beautiful. I didn't expect to see the Paul Bunyan statue, though.

I'm a sucker for quirky roadside attractions.

Seen a few Paul Bunyan statues in various places but this one had Blue too. Saw this and made a quick stop, needed gas anyways at least that's how I explained to my wife. Definitely a fun spot. The falls themselves are right behind but they weren't very active when we were there, so not very noticeable in our photo.

Loved this though, worth a stop for Paul and Blue.

A sweet spot to visit when going to Black Mountain of Maine. Paul Bunyan and Blue are a cool photo spot and the falls/bridge are really nice!

We went here as part of a waterfall driving tour. Talk about disappointing. The falls were barely a trickle and the Google directions take you to an area blocked off by a fence with barbed wire. Nearby there is a statue of Paul Bunyan and his ox and a giant adirondack chair, we had way more fun taking the photo op than we did looking at less than a faucet stream of water.

I went to Rumford Falls during the summer and it was beautiful, but I also often pass it. Even in winter it’s still beautiful, with huge icicles hanging over the falls. If you ever find yourself passing by I would recommend stopping and taking it in.

Date of Visit: Sunday, November 3rd, 2019.
While driving home from Bangor, Maine, we took a route that was full of surprises.
our route took us through Rumford, Maine

When you are driving along Route 2 in North West Maine, you will come across a giant Paul Bunyan And Babe the Blue Ox statue.
This is located at the Rumford, Maine visitors centre.
Stop here, and enjoy the area for a little break.
It is a gorgeous spot/

the great Paul Bunyan roadside attraction is what caught Roguetrippers' attention, but behind that is a beautiful river and the stunning Rumford Falls.

What a lovely find as we were driving along the route in Maine.
There is always something fun, gorgeous, and unexpected for us to find when we are in Maine. It would be amazing to work with Maine tourism to do a huge Statewide road trip feautre for our travel blog.

We stopped as we passed through town to grab some pictures for the kids. Pretty area and there are a couple food trucks in the parking lot so we grabbed lunch there while sitting in the park. Worth stopping in to see the view.

Excellent place to stop and see the waterfalls right off the side of the road. My whole family enjoyed the senic views we experienced in Rumford. The falls were very close by the Hotel Harris were we also enjoyed staying. Our trip to Rumford Falls Maine is all in all a great trip.

This small Maine town used to be dominated by the International Paper mill. It is much smaller now as many mills in Maine have downsized or just completely shut down. It is no longer owned by IP. The falls are particularly impressive in Spring as the ice melts. Rumford is the hometown of former Senator, Governor, Vice Presidential candidate and Secretary of State Ed Muskie.
