They have lots of fresnel lenses from actually lighthouses, and that was cool to see them up close. They have a really nice exhibit on female lighthouse keepers and the history of the lighthouse boats was neat also. Worth a visit. Admission price isn't that...More

The displays of lighthouses and lifesaving back in the day are great. There is a very detailed display of models and the harbor. I build wooden sailing ship models and could not stop looking at how detailed the display was. The staff is extremely helpful...More

Loved this museum in downtown Rockland. The displays are very well done and the best part is learning about the fresnel lenses of all sizes, many of which are on display. Some of the history of lighthouse keepers is fascinating, especially the Abbie Burgess story...More

So much history gathered in this museum. Lots of interesting exhibits. Did not realize how hard being a lighthouse keeper was until going through here.

This is a nice museum and would have loved for our grandchildren to have seen it. There’s plenty to read and learn about and the displays were very good. Be sure to read how the first director of the federal agency overseeing lighthouses saved our...More

Plan on spending 45-an hour here. It's small but very informative! We decided to come here before visiting any lighthouses and felt like we had a much better understanding/appreciation of them after visiting the museum
