It's further out than you might think. We brought our 7 year olds out to the light house, scampering over the granite blocks the entire way. When that storm rolled in quickly, there was no hurrying back. We got a good soaking and it has...More

Beautiful Lighthouse in the ocean- walk the1 mile to reach the light along huge rocks- make sure you wear comfortable shoes and a jacket as the ocean spray can get pretty high. Once at the lighthouse you can take some wonderful pictures! Really worth the...More

Went out twice, first to explore around the lighthouse. It's a nice walk out on the breakwater to the lighthouse, but if you are not sure of your balance better not give it a try. Nice morning walk though

An almost mile-long rocky, but flat, stone jetty awaits you. There's a small park prior to a short walk out to the jetty. No bathrooms, nothing open to see at the end of the jetty. It gets windy... and if you have a small child...More

We really enjoyed this walk. But it is not just a flat walk. You are stepping from huge block to huge block. But it is well worth it for the view.

This is a really fun, unique adventure if you enjoy walking and can handle uneven surfaces. The breakwater is composed of enormous granite stones with some uneven surface and gaps between the stones. The distance to the lighthouse is 7/8 mile, one way. Not recommended...More

If you are in Rockland and are able, take this walk. Yes it is windy, and yes you might be splashed from time to time, but it is worth it to be out on the water like that. Also if you are a photo bug,...More

Can see the light part easier from the coast, almost a mile walk down a jetty, narrow walk to get up the steps, worried about mother slipping and falling

No. The pathway is constructed with large granite blocks which are irregular shapes and have gaping cracks between each block. It would be impossible in a wheel chair. It is also very difficult for anyone with a walking... More
