One of Rockland's most dramatic and romantic places to go to! The Breakwater, or jetty ,as we call them on Cape Cod, stretches out into the middle of Rockland's Harbor. At the end of it is an Old Fashioned Lighthouse. It is a long walk but...More

It's a pretty long walk to the lighthouse over huge boulders. Very pretty walk out and nice views from the lighthouse area. Very busy with limited parking, but worth the stop.

The lighthouse is simple, but somehow so enjoyable. Walking the Breakwater over massive granite rocks while looking at lobster traps, watching lobster men at work, and sailing vessels enter and exit the harbor is an idyllic experience.

Even if you arrive after the lighthouse has closed, well worth the time to walk out to the end and take in the interesting walkway of gigantic granite blocks and the view. Sunset is perfect time to see the colors as sun sets over Rockland....More

Awesome walk out to the lighthouse! Worth every step, easy enough for all ages but far enough to feel like you actually went somewhere. Great family time to chat and walk to the lighthouse.

Ended up spending entire day there fishing and kayaking. Ordered food and had it delivered there and ate on the rock wall. Really enjoyed the walk. Wish it had been open but closed the day we went. Very idyllic day enjoying the view and water.

As the other people have commented, this lighthouse is 4300 feet from shore. So from the parking lot to the light house and back it is about 2 miles total. They are gaps in the rocks, so caution should be taken when walking and with...More

A long but fun walk out. Be careful to note when it is open. When we went it was from 11-2. That doesn't give much of a window to get out there. It is a mile walk out to the lighthouse but it is one...More

After a great dinner we went go the walk on the jetty. Makes for a great evening out with a great view. Approx 1/2 mile one way. Don't plan on bathrooms or gift shop. I haven't seen any in all the years. And at low...More

No. The pathway is constructed with large granite blocks which are irregular shapes and have gaping cracks between each block. It would be impossible in a wheel chair. It is also very difficult for anyone with a walking... More
