Previously we took the mailboat around the Casco Cay islands, but this time we just went to Peaks and got off for a few hours. It was marginal weather and the summer crowd had gone home, so it was interesting to see, meet and listen...More

On a picture-perfect fall day, the ferry is the way to go. Beautiful scenery of the islands as the boat putters along. It's the best way to get close-up views of sailing and lobster boats in the bay, and views of the more private parts...More

We went in August, so it was a bit chilly.. If you go around this time, don't forget a sweater because it does get windy. The overall ride was nice and I enjoyed every view. We took some wonderful pictures every chance we got. The...More

I booked what was listed as the "Sunset Cruise" but was disappointed to discover that the trip was really just a commuter boat that happened to depart near the sunset hour. For the price of the ticket we were handed a map of points of...More

Perfect getaway for a day. Lobster and clambake with activities and a boat ride. Price was good for the day.

Delightful 3 hour cruise round the Casco Bay islands. A working boat delivering mail and supplies at each stop. Hading back to Portland got quite choppy with spray up front, but lower level was dry. Excellent commentary en route

I took the mailboat ferry and highly recommend it. There is no food served but you can bring your own. A couple ladies brought a picnic lunch with a bottle of wine. I was jealous! They do have vending machines for snacks and beverages. This...More

We decided to take the mailboat scenic tour of Casco Bay. The Captain gave a nice overview of the islands & history of Casco Bay. Beautiful scenery and a very relaxing way to enjoy the Bay!!!

There are several hospitals in the area, all of them within 3 miles of the Casco Bay Lines. From I-295 take exit 7 - Franklyn St all the way to the end. There is a parking garage right next to the ferry.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and leashed. Expect a reasonable surcharge.

It is a long trip, 2.5 - 3 hours so I would bring something for them to do, there are some tables and chairs downstairs inside. There's big windows so you can still see outside and listen to the captain. I wouldn't recommend... More
