We took the Mail Boat route, which went to about six different stops. You can sit outside or under cover and see all the views. You do not get off the boat at any of the islands on this tour. $28 for two seniors, and...More

This was a really neat experience. We went to three different islands in Casco Bay. Wonderful views on a smooth riding ship.

WE took the boat ride around the harbor- and out to the islands- very enjoyable on a lovely day. The lighthouse was worth the trip. The setting is picturesque. Highly recommend it.

We took the ferry (about twenty minutes, seven dollars per person plus another small bicycle charge) over to Peaks Island on a gorgeous afternoon and bicycled around the perimeter of the island. It's seven miles around, mostly flat, so some of us did it twice...More

We took a ferry to Peaks Island (20 min.), and rented bicycles to tour the island. The island is very small and quaint. We circled the island in about an hour, but there are spots to stop along the ocean to relax and enjoy the...More

Our only sunny day in Portland, so we took a quick cruise to Peak's island and back. Our trip was relaxing with a view of coastal Maine.

We took the short 20 minute ferry ride to Peak's Island. It was beautiful and the ride was nice. However, the island was closed for the summer and nothing was open but one ice cream store, so it was kind of boring... We had to...More

We chose the mail run cruise, it takes 2.5 to 3 hours. The captain did point out the different islands as we cruised along. They do not sell food or drinks but that was okay because we brought our own snacks, beer and wine.

You don't need to be a sailor, artist, or historian to appreciate a trip on Casco Bay, but if you're one of any of these you will especially appreciate this remarkable body of water and all the unique islands it contains. You don't even have...More

There are several hospitals in the area, all of them within 3 miles of the Casco Bay Lines. From I-295 take exit 7 - Franklyn St all the way to the end. There is a parking garage right next to the ferry.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and leashed. Expect a reasonable surcharge.

Is it kid friendly? We have a 2 year old and are wondering if this would be a good activity. Thanks

I've never done the Casco Bay cruise with kids that young, but I've done enough sailing and other boating with children of all ages who have enjoyed immensely being on the water and doing something totally new. They are... More
