I could spend days discovering the islands. Wow! I never knew they existed! Such a wonderful find. Loving taking the ferries around the islands and to the islands. Soooo neat. Definitely recommend seeing them during your stop in Portland!

The approximately 3 1/2 hour trip was quite enjoyable, especially for seeing the delivery of the "mail" which was primarily supplies and for the wonderful scenery. There was a large group on board so we got the narrated version of the trip. Well worth the...More

Yes really great value on these ferries and surely the best way to explore our islands and the coast. Get a map and do a little reading about the history during the wars and how important this area has been over the centuries. Safe and...More

We took the 10:00 mail boat run and the ship was fairly full without being crowded. The boat made a half dozen stops to drop off mail and offload pallets at several of the locations. It was a nice relaxing way to spend about 3...More

We took the ferry out to Peaks Island for the afternoon. The ride was fun. Just 20 minutes each way and the island has bikes and golf carts to rent plus art galleries, restaurants, and bars. A great way to spend a summer afternoon.

Having explored most of Portland on land we were looking for a boat trip and the mail run seemed like a great idea - and it was! We took the 1000 trip today and the boat was actually quite full. After loading the cargo and...More

The hour and forty five minute ferry ride was great.....of course the weather was perfect. Captain gives some information as you reach different stops.....well worth the time and cost.

We had an outstanding day taking the ferry from Portland to Peaks Idlsnd then touring the island by walking. May people rent bikes or golf carts but the island is small. Four mile walk around the perimeter. For us the weather was perfect so it...More

There are several hospitals in the area, all of them within 3 miles of the Casco Bay Lines. From I-295 take exit 7 - Franklyn St all the way to the end. There is a parking garage right next to the ferry.

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved and leashed. Expect a reasonable surcharge.

I've never done the Casco Bay cruise with kids that young, but I've done enough sailing and other boating with children of all ages who have enjoyed immensely being on the water and doing something totally new. They are... More
