Victoria Mansion, also known as the Morse-Libby House, is the finest...

Victoria Mansion, also known as the Morse-Libby House, is the finest example of residential design from the pre-Civil War era in America. With superb architecture and well-preserved original interiors that were among the most lavish and sophisticated in their day, it is an unparalleled document of America’s highest aspirations in architecture, interior design, and the decorative arts. Our history, a quick tour, and our present-day efforts at restoring the Mansion convey an impression of the significance of this unique site, which is of national and even international importance.

Wonderful Victorian brought back to life. Get there around Christmas for a special time. The rooms have much of the original furnishings and discovered colors.

A wonderful partially restored Italian Villa style mansion. If you like visiting old houses and learning about the lifestyles of the rich and locally famous from the past, this is definitely for you.

Fine furnishings, tapestries, lamps, chandeliers, decorations, art, and a beautifully authentic experience of what life was like in the Victorian era. Nice gift shop as well.

My wife and I enjoy visiting different mansions when traveling. While this one is not as large or over the top as some others we visited it still was a good and interesting visit. The people inside the house are more than willing to share their knowledge about the house and families that lived there.

We had an hour before our next activity so we decided to visit this villa. It was unbelievable to see how the rich and famous used to live. The tour guide was knowledgable and answered all our questions.

From the moment you walk thru the front door, you are smitten. It takes your breath away. The details and stories from the docents are fantastic. Totally worth the $15 admission price.

This is a house which is still being renovated but is full of history. I was impressed with the story of how they managed to get a picture from the British Royal family by calling it Victoria Mansion.

This mansion is small (only two bedrooms) but is wonderfully restored and compares favorably with Newport Mansions. The booklet given at the beginning of the tour was extremely helpful and a great keepsake. We were very glad that we went.

A very well-restored Victorian mansion with a lot of knowledgeable volunteers giving information. It's a little pricy ($15) but something nice to see.

This incredible mansion is a must see if you like history, old homes, and 1800s - early 1900s. The fact that it is mostly intact - furniture, china, etc - to the way the two families that lived there left it, is a minor miracle. Opulent and over the top. The Mansion (Morse-Libby House) was built between 1858 and 1860... More
