Yes, bring your bug spray for the 40 minute walk/hike in, but the beach is well worth it! There is a beautiful overlook about half way, that provides a panoramic view of the land and ocean. The path is a one lane road, paved in...More

A bit of a hunt, but a great, isolated location for thinking, writing, painting. A private parking lot greets visitors, who then have a ways to walk in to the ocean. LOVELY spot!

Reality check: long & beautiful walk. Carry in ~ carry out. No restroom facilities. When parking lot is full not entrance possible ~ a well-managed wildlife sanctuary. If you are put off by this, go to Popham Beach State Park....it's just down the coast &...More

Great but two miles in and out. Buggy. Worth it once there. Bring what you need to enjoy and get there early. Watch tides. Like popham but more quiet. Beach looks like it had gold flecks. Free as well people super nice

If busy day and parking lot full, host will turn you away at parking lot, as management of the wildlife sanctuary prefers limited use. Come early in day or off season. This place illustrates the wisdom of preservation in the near wild of earth's most...More

I am from SC and think that our beaches are pretty fantastic, but this beach was one of the biggest, flattest, great to walk...and fun to hike to!

No they aren't. Where it is a nature conservatory, they can't have dogs running after the birds or destroying nests.
