We love museums, planes and cars which made Owls Head the perfect place to visit! All of the exhibits and especially the automobiles and planes are beautifully maintained. It took us about two hours to meander through the entire museum. We were a little disappointed that there were very few airplanes. If you are into transportation of all types and... More

This is absolutely one of the finest vintage transportation museums anywhere. It features vintage airplanes and automobiles. The best part is nearly everything operates. We saw a vintage Jenny aircraft flying when we visited! They were also giving rides in the Ford Model T. The art display is outstanding. The staff is very accommodating. An absolute jewel!

We have been here with our boys a few times over the last decade and they have always had a good time. So have we. If you can visit when they are flying the old planes, but even if they aren't it is worth a visit. The exhibits are clean and well kept. There are many fine cars, plans and... More

We went to this museum on a rainy day and found it delightful! It was clean, very well laid out. I would recommend this museum for adults but maybe a bit boring for kids unless they enjoy cars/planes etc. We spent several hours here and were surprised at all the exhibits they had.

I highly recommend visiting this museum. The vehicles and airplanes were in excellent condition, varied and easy to view. The educational videos were exceedingly interesting and contained such interesting information that I was not aware of (example: there is an exhibit called: Woman Who Dare: Pioneering Women of Transportation which highlights some of the women involved in early automobiles and... Visited with my husband who likes cars. I'm surely bored but happy that he enjoys these things. Was very entertained by the information on the unique contributions of several women in the 20th century to the developing auto transportation industry. Didn't know any of that before.

Visting the Owls Head Transportation Museum has been on my list for years. Not sure what we would find. A hugely pleasant surprise. Wonderful collection of automobiles, motorcycles and airplanes. Staff was super. I have seen a number of car collections and this is one of the best. A must see if you are anywhere near this part of Maine.

Someone recommended this place and gave it very high marks so we decided to check it out on a rainy morning. What a pleasant surprise. This museum is well thought out and kept up. It has some fascinating exhibits and I highly recommend.

Really nice museum with planes and cars that are beautifully restored. The volunteer staff has many interesting facts that they share that make this museum come alive. There is something of interest for everyone. Very glad we stopped.
