If you're looking for a quiet place to relax, this is not the place. If you're looking for a non-stop summer party, this is definitely the place.

Old Orchard beach offers seven miles of sandy beach area. It is a beautiful place to enjoy a sunny day and relax if you are in the South Portland area. Parking is available along Route 9 and side streets along the coast line, and probably...More

Nice beach with plenty of shops and food. Biggest drawback that could keep us away is no public restrooms/bathhouses. Only 2 near where we were an you have to pay 50 cents to use them. Never experienced that and with all the other beaches along...More

I haven't been here in a couple decades and decided to visit with my teen girls. We didn't stay long but the girls were really thrilled with the place. It has an old school feel to it that shouldn't be missed!

While the water is cold, it's still a family friendly beach. My drawbacks are there are no rest rooms for the general public, or changing facilities for day trippers wanting to change out of a bathing suit. I wish people wold stop smoking on the...More

I arrived about 8 in the morning and found that until 10, I didn't have to feed the parking meters. Great, because I knew I wouldn't be here long. Spent some time on the beach which was great and was hoping that since most of...More

Yes, you may before 10AM and after 5PM. 10-5 are the busy times on the beach so there are way too many people to make it enjoyable for either you or the pup. You'll need a leash for the pup. There's also the Eastern Trail... More

Usually the water temp is mid-upper 60's by end of July. It's upper 40's at end of May. Tops out in the low 70's by end of August. It's never truly warm. Maybe 73F if it's been a hot summer. It's never truly warm.

There are quite a few right on the beach and directly across the street (30 steps). It really depends on how much you want to spend and what you want. I booked the Copley LaReine Motel this year. It has fantastic views... More
