Visitors shod know that this is not a town beach. Parsons Beach is owned by the Parson family decendents and has been so forever. By their good graces you are welcome to try to secure one of very few free parking spots, bicycle to the beach or walk a long way and enjoy one of the finest Beach's in the area. Otherwise, buy a beach pass and go to the public beach. Be informed before posting about wealthy people being exclusive.

We drove around a couple of times trying to find a parking spot, but there was absolutely none whatsoever. Lots of traffic trying to park. We tried to look at the beautiful houses along the shore, but that wasn't easy to do because of all the traffic. The beach itself, if you find a place to park, isn't easily accessible due to the wall and rocky path around it. Obviously this is not an area that tourist are welcome at.

Two years ago I wrote a review about how horrid the parking was. It has stunningly gotten worse. If you aren't paying through the nose to rent a high-end beach property nearby, you'll have to walk at least 3/4 of a mile one-way to get to the beach. There isn't any handicapped accommodation and there's a guard/monitor to make sure you don't park within a reasonable distance to the beach.

I get that really rich people don't want the common-folk nearby in numbers that can't be easily ignored. However, when Parson's Beach puts up a Facebook page that says they 'welcome you' that is basically false advertising. The access is so bad and so much effort is put into making sure every visitor knows that this is a rich person's beach that the lords are graciously letting you use, that it really should be removed from all travel write-ups as a tourist attraction. It's a testament to how wealthy local people can buy a natural resource and deprive middle and lower income families of even a little time to enjoy it.

Overall, if you're going to make someplace so inaccessible, just close it instead of dangling it in front of a public that will more than likely be unable to enjoy it.

Parson's Beach is very private with few visitors because of restrictive parking...only 6 or 7 parking spaces on Parson's Beach Road. Adjacent to the road is a tidal marsh with a few benches where you can sit and enjoy the quiet...shore birds, fish, and shells...lovely. You can walk along the Mousam River to the beach. Beach is private; beware of disturbing residents. Lovely at low tide.

I used to enjoy going there before the new property owner cut all the beautiful trees going to the beach, and took all parking places except 6 away. We used to bring our chairs sit along the road side and watch people fish... and walk to beach. Now it is a fight to even get a spot... lets be real, beautiful beach and have to walk 1/2 mile or so to get to it, that is if you can even get a parking place near the main rd.

Stopped at Parsons Beach right before sunset. Beware very limited parking - only 6 spots. Only two other people and a dog when I visited. Got some great pictures!

Beautiful beach along the coast of Maine. Secluded, no amenities, perfect place to get away from the masses.

closed to traffic due to tree planting along the road, this beach is small and quiet. A private beach that others can use with permission, but has no parking.

Off the beaten path and very little parking, this is a quaint beach.
Dog walkers abound so be careful of those who don't pick-up.

Long flat sands at low tide.

Parson's Beach is an out-of-the-way place in Kennebunk Maine. It is away from the town, and off a quiet road. Lovely beach, nice place to walk and just take in the view, sit on the sand, surf fish.... Whatever your beach preference is. The good news is that it doesn't get too crowded. The reason is that there is very limited parking. Get there early, or go off-season.
