We Stopped by for a look on the way to Boothbay Harbor . What a nice beach ( 2 actually) . Very nice for a walk in the sand. plus rocky shoreline to explore. Could easily become a favorite place if we lived close by.

What I enjoyed most about this state park on the ocean was its facilities and how they easily disappeared into the background. There is a parking area as you enter and large changing and bathroom before you get to the beach. There is a easy-to-walk...More

We've been to Maine dozens of times and never knew about this fantastic place until today! The giant waves crashed on the spotless beach and, on the other side, pounded the quintessentially-Maine rocky, tree-lined coastline. We highly recommend this special place.

What's the best time of day to visit in early July

I would say the earlier you go, the better. There's more space available in the parking lot. When I say early, I mean about 10:00 or so.
