We had the most wonderful time at the Chateau. The owner, who is very sweet, took us for a private tour around the gorgeous vineyards and then showed us the amazing caves in which they keep their barrels. The vineyard'a long history is fascinating and the wine is superb. The best cabarnet franc I have ever tried. Beautiful whites as... More

The stop at Chateau du Petit Thousars was very enjoyable. Sebastian was the perfect host and the location is beautiful. After taking us to the vineyard and explaining how the grapes are grown, he walked us to the winery. It's in a series of underground caves, perfect for making and storing the wine (cool in more ways than one -... More

We brought our wedding party (29 people) to the Chateau for a tour and tasting. We were welcomed warmly and from there on everything was perfect. Informative and authentic tour experience followed by generous tasting with delicious food pairing. This place is what you dream of when you think of tasting wine in the Loire. Highly recommend this family business!

I highly recommend the picnic in the vineyard. It was a lovely and unique experience to taste the local foods with the complimenting wine. ....followed by a tours of the vineyard then the tasting of all the wines. The wines were delicious...my least favorite was the wine that comes with the lunch so don't be disappointed until you try all... More

we had a very interesting tour of the vineyard which was informative about how the quality of the grapes and wine are maintained. We had no idea about the strict controls over how and what can be used in the production of wine. It is such a shame that the vines all over the area had been affected by frost.

This was the best thing we did during our brief visit to the Loire Valley. Sebastian and D'Arcy are warm, wonderful hosts and shared this special place with us. The tour was interesting and informative while covering the beautiful grounds of their chateau and vineyards. We particularly enjoyed how their dog (dmitri) and cat (pickles) followed along on the tour... More

I visited Chateau du Petit Thouars with a group of students in March 2017, and it was an absolute highlight of our week in France. The chateau itself is owned and run by a 12th generation inhabitant, Sebastien, and his delightful young family. Sebastien was warm, friendly and inviting, and it was a true delight to learn about his vineyard... More

Truly such a delightful and wonderful time. The romantic picnic in the vineyard was picturesque and delicious. We even got to take home the wine and cheese that we didn't finish. We bought an additional bottle of the dry white we tasted too. The tasting was fantastic, Darcy eloquently explained the story and evolution of each of the wines and... More

We were on a wine tasting group tour with Olaloire tours and we stopped here for our second tasting of the day. Sebastian's chateau and vineyards are lovely. It's incredible that they do everything here. From the growing of the grapes, to the actual making and bottling of the wines. It was a real treat to tour the property and... More
