Excellent place to visit, very interesting with lots of good exhibits. On the weekends they have a real working blacksmith and a person turning wood.

Great stop on a rainy day. It's free so how can you complain. My son loves geology so the rock collection kept him busy for a long time.

Interesting collection - lots of activities for kids as well if you are there at the right times. Nice stop in for families.

Enjoyed the mixed collection. Just happened by though as they had a lecture on colonial era cooking. Fascenating! Friday we plan to go back for Maine herbs and wildflowers.

The museum was very interesting with the large collection of history from centuries back. Set on the coast it has a wonderful view. There is also a blacksmiths barn across the street with some innovative ways they handled shoeing farm animals.

This was such an interesting place. A lot of history and artifact. Learned the origin of many Castine townspeople. Museum keeper was so nice to let us tour this museum.

Large collection now just east coast. Many southwest Indian, Alaskan and other cultures represented. Building is beautiful. Classes and exhibits in season.

I dropped in this little museum while visiting Castine, expecting it to be somewhat pedestrian. To my surprise, the exhibits were most varied and entertaining. It is a real gem.
