If anyone says it only takes 45 minutes to get to the top, they must be referring to walking the main road. It took us 2 hours to snowshoe up and 1 hour to snowshoe down, and this was for two active people. We went...More

Great summer drive with great views from the top of Camden Harbor. Don't miss going up in the "castle" for sweeping vista's of ocean all the way to Bar Harbor. Mention your a vet at the gate and you may get a special discount.

Easy access (in season). Can walk or drive up. Stone tower to go up for an even better view, kids love it.

we drove up on the Auto Road, but there are many trails and opportunities for walking cycling etc. it is unusual to have a mountain right next to the harbor, and the view is spectacular

We were surprised at how amazing the view was from the top of Mount Battie! It's worth every penny of the small admission to the part.

The road is paved, two-laned and 1.5 miles in length. Tour buses and motorhomes can climb/descend it with no problem.

It usually opens in May and closes after Thanksgiving to cars. You can always park and walk up the road year round.
