What an unexpected pleasure as we traveled the coast. This view rivals Cadallic Mt. The peacefulness and beauty make you want to sit forever...a must do in this area!

The top of the list ... both figuratively and literally. Don't leave Camden without making this stop. You can drive to the top of the mountain (in season) and walk to the top year round. The best way to take in the BIG picture.

We hiked a few of the trails, then drove up to Mount Battie, as we were running out of time. Easy to park, and nice views of the water, harbor, etc.

Quick ride or hike to the top of Mount Battie is a must. You will find spectacular views overlooking the harbor at the top of Mount Battie!

The view from the top is breathtaking and definitely worth the drive and entrance fee. You can see for quite a long way. We also stopped at the bridge observatory, but I would recommend stopping here instead.

Found Mount Battie on Trip Advisor while we were eating at a lobster pound in Lincolnville, and so glad we stopped! Hiked the "Ocean Lookout" (1.4 miles) trail and then drove up to Mount Battie by car. Good choice!

Mount Battie in , Camden State Park is right off of route 1 and easy to find. There’s parking along the way, with easy access to the major sights. There are trails, mostly fairly short and easy to moderate, for those who want to explore...More

Camden Hills is open year round except if roads are bad. As far as I know, hiking in any time is permitted.
