Fantastic View, Beautiful fall colors!

Just outside of Camden town proper, a nice drive and then an 'easy' walk to the lookout tower. Quite the view and the fall colors were beautiful.

This park has a bunch of nice short hikes and a very helpful ranger to direct people to the drivable, walkable and hikable portions. The castle on top is a cute place for photos and, even on cloudy days, a beautiful view of the coast and surrounding hills and islands.

As a local, I hike this mountain almost everyday. The views are outstanding at all times of day and the top is fun for all ages. The World War 1 tower is a treat for people to climb, and has been recently been renovated to improve the steps and handrail. The hike itself is fun with a short trek through... More

Lively ascent through fallen leaves to a beautiful vista at the top of mt Battie Seemed a bit odd when we reached the top that one could just drive there! (I guess I have only hiked to inaccessible by car places!!)

I don't think anyone on our tour was particularly thrilled about seeing yet more trees on our fall foliage tour as honestly neither Camden hills state park nor Mount Battie sounded appealing to us. But by the end of our short visit, we are all totally thrilled for having made the stop! You can bike, walk or just sit awhile... More

We just came from the White Mountains in New Hampshire and were pretty sure nothing could beat it. Well, we were wrong. Though not as expansive as Mount Washington. The combined scenery of Penobscot Bay and Mount Battie was absolutely beautiful! Worth a look. Benefit: Very easy to get to and an easy climb. If I can do it, so... More

We have done the hike up Mt Battie twice, both times early in the morning. Park just by the entrance to Camden Hills State Park. The road is steep but really not hard going up, and a breeze coming down. The rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. If you get a good day, the view from the summit is awesome...Camden Harbor... We drove up there at sunset and enjoyed the stunning views. I found the entrance fee quite pricey, but I am glad we went. Some day I would like hiking the park too.

This is a great side trip when company visits- on a clear day. Drive to the top, get out, relax, enjoy the panorama of Penobscot Bay. Just take it in, take deep breaths, use binoculars, and enjoy!

We have hiked Mt. Battie as well as a couple of other mountains that make up Camden Hills State Park. Today we took a drive up to the beautiful top of Mt. Battie. The historic landmark, a stone tower, has awesome views from the top. One can climb to the top of the tower via an interior staircase. The views... More
