A real bonus for those of us living here. Great staff, interesting programs for adults and for children as well. Preserves are well maintained, user friendly, good places to re-energize. Keep up the good work.

We have hiked about five of the trails in the area, some are rather long and others quite short. The brochure they put out and website is very informative about how difficult each hike is. Went on the Linkin Trail this last trip and found...More

I walked both Porter’s Preserve and the Penny Lake Preserve and very much enjoyed both. Wish I could have visited all of them! This is a great thing the region has done to preserve natural coastal Maine.

Several beautifully kept trails that are extremely well marked. Porter's Preserve was the favorite as it went along the water and in several areas offered vistas to go out for views into the harbor on the rocks.

We hiked the Linekin trail. Great hike, some easy & some challenging if you are looking for variation. The trail goes both through the woods & by the harbor. Terrific hike, 2 hours at good pace.

This preserve provides us with a lovely opportunity for a walk in the woods. It’s was very pleasant— not crowded. We didn’t see much wildlife but we also weren’t really searching. Trails could be better marked but otherwise was nice.

We visited with our travel group and all of the group were very impressed with the area and how it was kept up. Very clean and also very scenic.

They do have a nice wide .5 mile loop mulch trail at Penny Lake which would be fine for a stroller. It has a bridge along the trail that offers a view of the lake with benches for snacking and resting a bit.

No, there is no camping allowed on Damariscove Island. Day use only; no campfires are allowed. All Boothbay Region Land Trust preserves are open dawn to dusk year round.
