WE take a bus full of bostonian up there every july . we book the day early, and the wonderful barbara ross sends me books marks about the island, that her wonderful series is set on.

You get a beautiful trip out, the lobster (and chicken) are excellent. It is a traditional Maine lobster bake with such a wonderful family who has operated it for years. Worth the price tag....

I believe a month would be enough lead time. We have been there and got reservations in a few days, but why take the chance. It's a great trip and meal.

They are closed for the season Sept. 10 this year. Check website closer to next season for times and dates.
