We attend a play once or twice a year at this theatre. Our first time, we were shocked! In the quiet, empty city center of Biddeford, who would have know there’s this amazing theatre! It’s the Best and the performances are sensational! The performers are local people but you’d think they were from Broadway (which we visit several times a yr). If you haven’t experienced a play here, you must!!

It's a community theater that doesn't need to take a "backseat" to professional theaters. The talent is great and the theater is beautiful. It has been totally restored to it's original state. Well worth a visit.

Whether a play or a comedy concert there is not a bad seat in the house. Extensively renovated to it's old charming beginnings this is a turn of the century theater that lives up to it's billing. I have been there many times and hope to go again in the near future to view the premier of a locally shot and produced Christmas movie.

They are completely useless for people with mobility issues. Once you made it up 3 flights of stairs from the front door they had you wait in a crowded area in front of the bar ‘till the doors opened 1/2 hour before showtime.
There was no reason to keep old people with canes and walkers standing in a crowded area with limited seating.
We were there to support live theatre and we like most of the lame elderly audience have mobility issues.
Some of the problem is the site. The rest is the theatre company for not letting people into the theatre to sit in their seats.

We appreciate the time and talent that go into these play performances at City Theatre, but find we go only rarely now as a number of performances are just too long. When a play goes for an hour and 15 minutes or even an hour and a half in one case, before intermission, it takes away from the event. One gets uncomfortable sitting and the performance becomes a little rambling and loses interest. Portland Stage and Good Theatre manage the play time well and moving in this direction would be beneficial to City Theatre. They have many good things going for them and we would like to see them continue to grow. .

My husband and I were in Maine and looking for something to do.We saw an add for A Trailer Park Christmas .It was a great ! The actors and actresses did an unbelievable job.We laughed so hard we cried. It may not be for everyone because of the language, but that was the setting a Trailer Park.I would go see it again. The theater is an asset to Biddeford.I wish I lived closer so I could go to many more plays. There isn't a bad seat in the house. If you live in the area shame on you if you do not take advantage of this gem !!!! They sell coffee, water and snacks to to support the arts.

I've been to several productions at the City Theater and enjoyed all of them. Good acoustics, easy to see the stage from every seat in the house and always good performances.

This theater has made great strides in terms of renovations and quality shows. We are never disappointed when we see a production here and the local thespians that star in the show have a lot of talent. The volunteers and staff that work the events are helpful and kind. It's a great place to see a play or enjoy a musical concert. You won't be disappointed.

We've had a few fun nights out at this theater. The theater itself is lovely, and while it's not broadway, the shows we've seen here have been professionally produced, and there's been some actual talent in the casts!

I went to the Biddeford City Theater for a play and found the setting to be a fantastic space. It is not a huge space, so there is an intimacy that is very nice about it. The play itself was very professionally executed, including some physical comedy that showed the intense preparation of choreographers and actors. I felt the space would be equally nice for a vast array of performances. I've kept an eye on their productions ever since.
