We specifically came to Maine in October to see the foliage changing. This short and sweet train ride filled that requirement. Passed some beautiful fields and a serene lake. Yes the train is old and creaky. But it is an old train car. The open air car was in for repairs so the 360 view wasn't avaialble. The very heavy windows do open, so you can get some amazing photos without windoe glare. For $20 it was worth it.

Enjoyed train tour. Staff very friendly & helpful. Long line for single restroom; train was held until all could use. Scenery was varied with marshes, woodland & ponds. Train provided water/sodas for passengers.

We spent a lovely afternoon on the train out of the Unity, Maine station to see the changing fall colors. Lots of fun to watch families with children enjoying the ride and an easy, peaceful way to spend some time together. The crew were professional and friendly and we would recommend this 'adventure'!

Kids were ok with it. I thought being Halloween ride would be decorated some and maybe some games. Grandson and friend thought ok but expected little more. People were great. One young man full of history about trains and they loved his stories. Thank you so much.

Thank you for an unforgettable Santa Express ride. Santa and Mrs Claus took their time seeing and meeting all of the children. The cocoa and cookies were a nice touch. Looking forward to next year.

What a wonderful experience! We took our son and 4-year-old grandson on the Santa Express and had a great time! When our grandson saw Mr. & Mrs. Santa, he got soooooo excited! We sang Christmas songs, had some Christmas cookies and hot chocolate, and talked with Mr. & Mrs. Claus. Our grandson said it was the best day EVER!

A group of 18 of us enjoyed this train ride. The car we were in was built in 1914. They used coal stoves for heat and it was toasty warm. It was light out when we left at 4 so we were able to enjoy some beautiful scenery along the lake. Santa and Mrs. Claus were wonderful with the children and adults. We sang Christmas carols and enjoyed fresh sugar cookies and hot chocolate. The train crew were knowledgeable and happily answered our questions about the train. They were informative, letting us know when to pay attention to what was happening with the motion of the train and when we could freely move about. A great family experience!

Good family fun. You get a 1/2 hour train ride with another 1/2 hour return along the same track. Gift shop was poorly stocked, but had some trrasures if one really wanted a momento. The train was cold as they did not light the wood burning stove and the staff primarily sat off to themselves chatting with each other. It would also be helpfyl if they had benches or someplace to sit while waiting for staff to get up off their seats in the train to let us board. Nice adventure, but doubtful if we will return.

Took our granddaughter for the train ride, pizza, drink and whoopie pie! Everything was very good and well worth the price. The volunteers were very friendly and informative .. I would highly recommend bringing some cash to leave a tip for the volunteers they deserve it!!

We went on the Pizza and Whoopie Pie Express offered on Saturdays. Not only was everything good but the train ride and informative staff made it so much more fun. It was very informative and great for kids, families and couples. Highly recommend.
