OK, so there are actually four large Paul Bunyan statues around the USA (do the research...). This is the nicest rendering we've seen, though Babe the Blue Ox is absent.
An easy stop if you're passing through Bangor. If you do drop by, be sure to cross the side street and have a glass at the Timber Kitchen and Bar, the nicest and largest bar we've ever seen at a Residence Inn. Great interior with dozens of upholstered bar stools, large outdoor seating area with couches and fireplaces. Try the very reasonably priced ten ounce wine pour, a fitting tribute to your visit to Paul and almost the same size.

This is a quirky statue that you would think you could only find in Maine, however, Paul Bunyan is in other cities as well. The Bangor version is quite high and seemingly randomly located next to a medical building. Why? I am not sure. But it can be fun to try to find him while on Main Street.

You do not realize how large this statue is until you actually get out of the car and stand next to it. The statue is a cool reminder of the lumbering community the area once was and it would have been nice to have some information boards by the statue explaining the significance of the Paul Bunyan statue to the area. It was neat to see this statue that stands towering over the town.

Interesting statue especially if you're a SK (IT) fan. You can walk around the statue and take as many pictures as you want. Don't climb on the statue. Unfortunately the movie had me picturing the statue in a park and there's office buildings surrounding him. Still a great experience.

We first saw this 31-foot-tall statue 20 years ago and it still looks good. We parked at the gas station across the side street for a few minutes even though it said private parking. Just stayed long enough to snap a few photos.

The Paul Bunyan Statue was the last of our Stephen King road trip. The statue was featured in "IT 2" where it came to life. I've seen a handful of Paul Bunyan statues around the country, including Oregon and Michigan and this one is as fun as the rest, but has the creep factor of being in a horror movie.

This is the biggest Paul Bunyan statue!! Odd how it is standing out in front of building that really doesn’t have anything to do with Paul Bunyan as far as I could tell.
I would recommend going by and taking a picture. My kids where not as impressed as I was, and refused to let me take their picture. Lol
There is no parking at the statue, and it is located on a busy road. Park at the gas station next door (to the left of the statue) and it is about 50 feet from there.

I can't believe I drove by this thing several times without seeing it. I mean, it's big enough at 31 feet high, but the road's a busy one and you have to pay attention, and it was camouflaged a bit by trees and shrubbery. When I stopped for lunch at the the Timber Kitchen, I finally noticed it on the other side of the side street. It's claimed to be the largest Paul Bunyan statue in the world. As many Stephen King fans know, the statue 'comes to life' in King's novel It. There's even a mural of Paul Bunyan in downtown Bangor.

Way over-rated. Clearly a commercial venture for the insurance company. No parking nearby available, so cars were wandering about, making u-turns, and even stopping in the street! No plaque explaining why this giant Paul Bunyan statue is even doing in that part of Bangor.

You can't go to Bangor and not see Paul Bunyan. This stature is one of the best representations I have seen. It is on a busy road, but you can park at the Cross Center and walk around it. It has been kept in good repair and is a fun reminder of Bangor's lumbering past.
