Go beyond the myths of the Old South and walk in the footsteps of 4 generations of one Creole family, both free and enslaved, who lived together in complicated, intimate family relationships on this sugar plantation that remained a world apart from the United States through the first decades of the 20th century. Laura is open daily from 9:30AM - 5PM except for major holidays. The first tour of the day begins at 10AM with tours beginning approximately every 40 minutes thereafter until the last tour of the day at 4PM. Before or after your Laura tour, enjoy authentic, homestyle Cajun food at B&C Seafood Market and Cajun Restaurant right next door.

Our family of two adults and two children 9 & 5 were captivated by Laura and all that the grounds have to teach visitors. Our guide Ethan was an amazing host and guide. Beautifully presented tour rich with information. Highly recommend a visit.

We were passing through on our way to New Orleans and were crunched for time when we decided to tour a plantation home. We had heard great things about Laura and chose to take the time to see it. We were glad we did. Being a plantation home makes it a unique experience from other southern plantation home tours. It... More

What an amazing history this plantation has. Our guide, was very funny, professional and charming. His family were the original owners of this land. It is beautifully preserved and Praise God it had airconditioning. The history will pull at your heart strings and will open your mind to the way of thinking in the old days. The cost for this... Laura's plantation is one of the original creole plantations. The tour was fabolous and included original slave quarters. I toured Laura Plantation as part of an all-day tour of several sites. Prior to Laura Plantation, we toured Oak Alley Plantation. The best thing about touring them both is that they are very different, Laura Plantation being a Creole plantation which was run by a woman. The guided tour started in the Big House. The guide shared extensive knowledge... More

We visited the Laura Plantation as part of a Cajun Encounters group and were guided round by Bryan. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Bryan was the best guide that we have ever experienced anywhere in the WORLD. His engaging, charismatic and unique method of storytelling really brought the history of the plantation to life for us. I have... More

Easy drive from New Orleans. We were absolutely fascinated with the story of this Creole plantation – the guide was fantastic. Came away with a better appreciation for life on these places. Excellent value for the price!
