We had a family of 14 and our tour guide. We went to do cajun cooking with Spuddy and had an amazing time. We made jambalaya, gumbo, okra, the best peas EVER, a seafood court bouillon and more!! Spuddy was so down to earth and fun and the food was AMAZING! Our family of 14 would all recommend as a must do!

Best and most entertaining 90 minutes you can have in Vacherie with your clothes on. Spuddy is a master chef, an orator, and a Cajun historian. I love this show!

Amazing experience for my husband and I on our trip. Spuddy and Elaine welcomed us with open arms and we felt like instant family! Food was outstanding and it was a giant history lesson of the area.

Spuddy was an absolute delight, happened across this class by accident and were so pleasantly surprised. It was not your typical classroom experience, it felt like cooking in the kitchen with an old friend. The end product was a great payoff. 10/10 recommend if you're in New Orleans it's worth the drive.

We recently attended Spuddy’s Cajun Cooking Experience. As soon as we walked into the restaurant Spuddy made us feel comfortable, like being at home among friends. His expertise in the kitchen allowed him to relate to all levels of cooking talents. Under Spuddy’s guidance, the students did the cooking. Literally a hands-on experience. His explanation of the history of not only the Cajun people but all of the nationalities that settled in the area was captivating and insightful. The stories he related allowed us to appreciate how their recipes were developed. Whether you were helping with the roux, the gumbo, the jambalaya or making the sausage and andouille; Spuddy put you at ease and made you feel like part of the cooking team. His vast knowledge of the history and expertise in the kitchen were only overshadowed by his passion to impart these experiences to his class. This was much more than a cooking class, it was truly an EXPERIENCE!!!

I attended Spuddy’s Cajun Experience yesterday! I am absolutely amazed at the knowledge and passion Spuddy has for the Cajun Culture! I consider myself a good cook but Spuddy shared some “tricks” with me yesterday!
I am applying those skills with 30 friends today for the Cruising The Coast in Gulfport, Ms!
Thanks Spuddy!! Well done my friend!!

I had the opportunity to participate in the Cajun Cooking Experience and what a time it was! Spuddy was a wealth of great information from the time we set foot in the door. He takes you through the history of the Cajun people, their lifestyle, their food and all with the utmost respect for all those peoples who helped shape that history (which is much more vast than you might assume). We learned all about some of the quintessential Cajun meals from start to finish. Spuddy walks the whole group through each step of making these delicious dishes on a level that makes translation into your own kitchen seem attainable and reasonable. The end product was absolutely delicious and having played a part in making it caused it to taste that much better. Overall, this was an incredible experience and I highly encourage anyone to make a trip for this unbeatable experience. Whether you're in the area touring plantations or a local looking to spice (literally) up your weekend, I highly recommend Spuddy's Cajun Cooking Experience!

My wife and I wanted to try something fun over the weekend and Spuddy's Cajun Cooking Experience did not let us down. Spuddy takes you on a tour that brings you back all the way to the Louisiana purchase, and he helps you understand why the dishes you are making were made to begin with. You will quickly grow in your appreciation of cajun/ creole food, and you will find no better host in Lousiana to help you do so.

I had a wonderful time learning and cooking with Spuddy! Spuddy is so knowledgeable about Cajun food and the history surrounding Louisiana cuisine. I was born and raised in NOLA and have eaten Cajun food all of my life. I now know how to make the perfect roux, how to make the best jambalaya I have ever tasted, and I literally saw how the sausage is made... and true andouille sausage at that! It was a true Cajun cooking experience and I see myself coming back time and again for myself and to bring others so they can enjoy it as well! Thank you, Spuddy, for a great and tasty time!!
