The Robinson Film Center is a billion burning suns in what was once, briefly an infinite sea of darkness. There was a time, from when the late, great, much beloved Quail Creek Cinema in Shreve City closed, to when this theater opened in 2008, that there was nothing. Very few area theaters in general, and then, no theaters such as this offering such a beautiful lineup of such unique and interesting movies.
I have seen, since their opening, some of my favorite films of all time, as well as movies I will never forget. I have a memory for these types of things, so allow me to proudly list some of these titles as recommendations for you to add to your To-Watch List. They are as follows in no particular order, but I will start with the first film I ever saw here, my future wife accompanying me, it was the amazingly dark and hilarious, In Bruges.
Other films through the years include, All Is Lost, Kon Tiki, Ballast, The Rock-afire Explosion, Frank, Rubber, Rare Exports, Amour, Anomalisa, Che: Parts One and Two (which they showed back to back and allowed for a half hour intermission between showings) Kumiko: The Treasure Hunter, Let The Right One In, Synedoche, New York, Only Lovers Left Alive, The Artist, Beasts of the Southern Wild, the documentaries Best Worst Movie, Undefeated, and Winnebago Man, and most recently the incredible Japanese film, Drive My Car.
I could go on and on, obviously, but I’ll also mention that the Robinson gave me two of the best New Year’s Eves ever. The first couple of years they were open, the RFC, coupled with Abby Singer’s Bistro upstairs hosted these brilliant NYE parties. Wow! Were they fun! Unbelievable food, drinks, dancing and movies (I remember the fabulous French film, A Christmas Tale being shown that first year!) Good times, y’all. Good times.
Oh! I can also always count on the Robinson to get me my Anderson movie fix, be it Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest production, or Wes Anderson’s most recent opus, rest assured, those magnificent directors’ latest works will be put on full display here and shown with great respect and at their maximized and most realized potential!
Thank you, RFC! Fourteen years and the Robinson has made Shreveport, and certainly downtown Shreveport, a much better place to live and be.

First of all, everyone who works here is nice & super helpful. I can believe that they really enjoy their jobs. Second, they show great movies here! The sound & lighting is perfect & the chairs are comfortable and not sticky like "big" movie theaters. Also, Abbey Singer's is upstairs and you can take your Happy Hour drink into the theater to watch the show.

Robinson’s is a fantastic theatre that shows classic movies. Atmosphere is very nice with large seats. Plenty of choices for something to snack on. Also upstairs is a excellent restaurant with good choices at very reasonable prices.

Here is an awesome place to eat and catch a movie to take your date. It is nice and the food is delicious. Try the cream brulee' for dessert.

My wife and I hold a membership to the Robinson Film Theatre. It is Shreveport ‘s art film theatre and has a wonderful restaurant, Abby Singer’s as a partner. We love going to see films that one might not see in the mega-theaters.

I liked the intimate setting of the theater. There wasn't a long wait to check in and get refreshments like you usually encounter at typical theaters.
