Tourists tripping on overfed snakes, monkeys or random birds in tiny cages, lonely crocodile in a filthy pool of water, injured monitor lizard from gnawing the cage, dead butterflies left on the floor, crushed by tourist looking up, etc. Enough said: Avoid this place!

This is the most appalling place I have ever visited. From the male/female (?) guide who was randomly talking to the animals and to be quite honest, odd, to the cages the animals were in was horrible. Eagles in a small cage about 4ft square and a gibbon in a cage just big enough for his body. Disgusting place that needs to be shut down !

My partner and I visited this "sanctuary" today and I was excited to meet the snakes. However,as soon as we stepped foot into this place, I realised I had made a terrible mistake. The cages are ridiculously tiny for the animals and I was shocked to see monkeys and eagles inside metal cages not fit for their size. I am a animal lover and this place destroyed my faith in humans... the poor monkeys could hardly move and had nothing to stimulate them or keep them occupied. It was awful and when we asked the annoying lady boy if the monkeys and eagles were kept in the cages all day everyday, he quite matter of factly said "yes all the time"....like it was no problem at all!!

I am so angry that this still goes on in 2019. This place should be shut down and the animals rehoused somewhere with people who can look after them properly.

Please don't go here, yes the snakes are interesting but you're funding animal cruelty.. I am horrified that I fell for the term "sanctuary" as it's more like hell.

I went here as part of the Bohol tour. After reading the other reviews I have to agree the animals are in small spaces. The birds the monkeys, the snakes all don't have much space to roam freely. The ladyboy was annoying. I didnt see the butterfly part as not interested. They must give the animals bigger spaces to roam if keeping in captivity please. Especially the monkey did not look happy and the birds and snakes.

This wildlife park is split in two sections - the butterflies and snakes (plus a couple seemingly random animals). The Snakes section is living of its past glory due to the biggest Python calling that place a home - you can see his remains in exposition there.. when we arrived we started the tour ourselves after buying tickets as there was no one around but shortly after someone came in and he/she (make your pick, I did not inquire) started touring us with obvious annoyance of having to do so. Walked down the alley to the corner, said three random things and then started giving us that ‘hurry up’ look. This repeated twice (as you only go through 3 short corridors with cages) and was gone, super annoying and unpleasant guide. At the end you can take a picture holding a python which was nice, the lady there was at least cheerful. The butterfly section was different - they let you in a big netted cage with butterflies and you can do whatever you want and for however long you want, I enjoyed that although apart from 2 types of butterflies I did not see anything different. I’d say this attraction is a pass for those with limited time.

That was the first time that i hold or touched the snakes.I was scared for the first time but later on i overcame it. Mixed emotion on what i had felt that time. Although I overcame my fear but I was lonely seing the status of the animals, they should be in the forest and live freely.

Let me start by saying I left the place in TEARS because I was terribly upset at how BADLY the animals were kept. This is the kind of animal abuse that should not be continued especially in 2019.
I'm surprised that they're still open and active.

The animals were kept in tiny run down metal crates with no space to even move around. It smelled horrible and I truly feel like it's been neglected with no regards for any of the animals' welfare.

I'm highly disappointed as I've just finished the Tarsier Sanctuary tour which leaves the Tarsier with plenty of space to be in it's natural habitat with a strict briefing programme and with handlers/spotters so to only to follow that up with this hell hole... I have no words.

I saw eagles and other birds in about 2m high cages.. can anyone tell me where they're supposed to spread their wings?

The snakes are lumped together in a small box as big as an ice box with no space to move like they're not even real living creatures. The "park staff" kept asking everyone to hold the snakes like they're props or something.

And I read in one of the reviews that the Python's mouth is shut????!!!!

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!?!?

Best avoid this place not worth your money or your time. Who wants to see caged and abused animals?

They have birds, eagles, monkeys, snakes(a lot of it) and a tarantula. The wildlife park is pretty clean. Interesting thing to do here is to hold a snake yourself. I did it! You should try too.

We understood that the big blackish brown python just swallowed a live, whole pig and therefore, safe to approach and touch. The yellow ones have attractive, shiny skin/scales, which reminds me of hand bags and shoes. After viewing them, I feel that it’s a pity and wrong to sacrifice pythons for commercial purposes.

Snakes in captivity don’t differ too much in life expectancy or life quality to those in the wild, but for other animals it definitely does differ especially when kept in poor conditions, which is the case at this wildlife park. The place smelt terrible and I rushed through the park because I was sad that such wonderful creatures could be kept in such tiny and dirty cages. There was one big snake that was cool, but otherwise I did not enjoy anything else. There was an opportunity to hold a snake and get your photo taken but the snakes mouth was taped shut which I am completely against.
There was also a butterfly “sanctuary” there, it was highly disappointing. The space was small and there weren’t that many butterflies.
There was one memorable note though. We had a guide for a couple minutes; a lady boy with a huge and kooky personality that walked us around calling the animals her relatives, singing songs about being a lady boy, naming animals celebrity names and “talking” to them using curious noises. She was the only highlight of this visit. We will not return though.
