they have no public parking, They had a lot of parking blocked off for a private event. Trying to go to a restaurant there had to circle for a while, and ten they were double parking at resaurant, and the place was pretty empty.

This was a very nice area. The stores were unique and offered various local and touristy merchandise. The river walk area was nice and reminded me a quite New Orleans.

The pricing is way higher than expected and even for a tourist town. The people of the area are friendly until you ask about reasonable pricing. There is a lot of hype for no reason. The criminal element is high but no one seems to care. A lot of under age drinking which was explained as kids will be kids.... More

Nice, clean, little shops with anything you can imagine. Wonderful, friendly, Southern people who will stop to chat about your day ( or the weather!) Great eating places all along Front Street. One side of Front Street overlooks the river with a walkway down so you can sit and look at the water. Small town charm everywhere.

This is a quaint, historic downtown area. It's not so long as to be unwalkable, there are plenty of cute shops, a fab old-fashioned hardware / dry goods store with lots to see, and a beautiful view of the Cane river along the way.

My husband and I live in Shreveport and visit Natchitoches a couple of times a year, and my daughter (lives in Pineville) and I go for a long weekend once a year. Sometimes we all meet for lunch. Front Street makes for the best shopping year round. Things in the stores change so you always can find something new and/or... More

Husband and I enjoyed the river view from here and the window shopping. We didn't buy anything except a few nick-knacks and some fudge, which was delicious of course. Certain times of the year there are events down at the river which are fun for families. I think they offer a calendar on the cities website. Parking is free but... More
