Took my grandson and he had a ball. He was 2 1/2 and had to stay on the little kids side as they had another part of the park for older kids, but the two are next to each other. Be prepared to move and be active because the kids go in one side and exit another. You have to be able to see them all the way though, so yes it wore PawPaw out as well as the grand baby.

We were in town visiting relatives and my son wanted to play, took him here and he fully enjoyed it again. Park is immaculate, has free wi-fi, overall the best place to take kids in the area.

Probably one of the most dynamic children playgrounds I have ever seen and I have been to a bunch. We live in Houston and are no stranger to children activities. Perfect for my 5 year old son. Well played Louisiana!

So grateful that the best park in town chose my photo as the cover photo for trip advisor! I used to bring my daughter to the original millennium park when she was a child and I was very excited to see our city rebuild it and make it even better! I hope that children will enjoy for many years to come!

City of Lake Charles deserves allot of credit for great parks. This being one of the many good ones. All ages can enjoy. Easy parking and even access via boat. Great location. Kids love it.

This park was better than the best I've ever seen! I highly recommend going to the Millennium Park to let the kids run, play, and have loads of fun while you sit back relaxing. I can promise you I will bring my grandchildren back here again and again! Oh...there is a security guard that is constantly walking around interacting with all the guests and making sure everyone is having fun while being safe! Fantastic park, y'all!

This nice little park is somewhat hidden away from I-20 travelers in downtown Lake Charles. It overlooks the east side of the lake and is well suited to entertain young children.
There is a marvelous area with a pirate ship and a large tree house-type structure, a splash park and places to picnic and relax. Food and drink trucks abound, all while you enjoy views of the lake.
This is urban planning in action, and the city has done a real good job. I recommend this attraction for all families.

We were looking for a place to stop and have the kids run around on our drive from Austin, TX to Rosemary Beach, FL (this was on the way home) and this park was almost perfect! Sadly we arrived at 7:45pm and the park closes at 8pm- summer hours- but an amazing playscape, all fenced in, splash pad and right on Lake Charles. We also walked around the waterfront, looked at the boats and stopped at the Wendy's at the edge of the park to change into PJs before heading back on the road. Very easy to get to off I-10. Our kids are ages 4 and 2 but older kids would like as well.

This public playground has a wonderful assortment of playthings for any age. Children only. From a pirate ship to a wild west fort, a great deal of effort from the entire community went into building this fantasy playground. (I'm one of the contributors). The original playset was destroyed by fire, but the new set is made of fire-resistant material. It is conveniently located along the lake near the Civic Center, a short distance from I-10 and would be a great place for travelers with children that need to "burn off some energy". Mom and Dad can stretch their legs, too. Not to mention local patrons.

Can a birthday party be held here? How much to reserve a picnic bench?
Written 12 March 2017
The park itself is free to the public. I think it would be a great spot to hold a birthday party. They have some space right outside the park if you wanted to set up some blankets and such and have a little picnic out there. Depending when you go, I think you would have access to the benches and all with no issue. Hope this helps.

It should def be on during weekends
Written 27 September 2015
The only time during the summer that we found the park closed was on Monday's until after 1pm.
There are touch sensitive sensors located on most of the water park attractions that may be difficult for your little one to turn on. With a little exploration and patience, nearly all of them will come on; the attractions seem to go off and on in a random pattern as well.
