Seeing your history is so much better than reading it only. Peaceful drive and excellent roads. Easy to get to from any where.

We stopped here as we traveled south. I have to say I learned a few things I never knew about the civil war. The grounds are very clean and kept. The little lake was very pretty.

My sister and I have been doing some hiking in Louisiana. This is a great hike and the terrain isn't totally flat. Some challenges along the way, but not hard. The map provided is a bit misleading. The 6 miles are routes that dead end...More

The Visitor's Center has numerous well-done exhibits. That's especially important, since trail exploration is hampered by the incomparable heat of Louisiana Summers. On display are many firearms and types of ordinance. There are a couple of miniatures dioramas. One interesting exhibit is an interactive view...More

We need to go back and do this again properly. I don't know enough of the history to feel as though I can fully appreciate but will do next time.
