This is a fantastic visit for the Reenactment of the Battle of Port Hudson. Family friendly event. Great time and fun. a must do if in town in April.

We spent a half day here, enjoyable. Nice grounds, several walking trails, wonderful main building with several great Civil War artifacts/history. Suggest going during cooler weather as hot day (106 heat index) hikes aren't the best.
