Beautiful place 20 minutes walk from the center of Vila de Trindade. Perfect for bathing, as it is a natural pool where the stones prevent waves from breaking. In the summer it is always full.

My wife and I visited this beach during our stay in Parati, RJ. This beach was recommended to us by the locals, but it is off the beaten track. You need to take a city bus from from Parati to Trinidade that leaves every hour. The bus trip alone was exciting as we wound our way up and down the mountains, then through some local neighborhoods with unpaved roads. However, the bus can be crowded and hot. When you get to the end of the bus route, you will be in the hippie town of Trinidade. A slightly strenuous walking trail with slopes and elevations will lead you to a beach called Cacha d'aco. Watch out for huge snakes! Along the way you will pass through a small beach area with local vendors selling food and drinks. Once you find the beach, it feels like you found paradise. This beach has clear warm water with mild waves that make it fun for body surfers. You will find huge rocks which come out of the water that you can climb or maneuver around. The scenery is breathtaking. If you can't handle the things I described above, then don't go.... that just makes it better for the rest who can. But if you are willing to try an exotic way to explore a natural beach environment, you will be so happy you made the effort and it will be memorable. Once you get to the beach, another trail at the far end leads to a natural pool which is fun to visit.

Trinidade is a must see - natural attractions (waterfalls, rock pools and beaches) that are accessible only by foot and by boat (no roads) that are so amazing you thought existed only in films.

Just one word of warning. If you take the walking option, make sure you have adequate footwear, as some of the trails are tough going through forest and mud. Bring sturdy boots for the trails and flip flops for the beaches.

Trindade is a small beach, which is really easy to get to from Paraty. There's a local bus that goes every hour for 3 reals. When you get to Trindade i suggest to not stay at the main beach, which is surrounded by bars and restaurants, and is very touristy, There is a small trail that goes to the right facing the ocean and after a 20-30min walk you get to some beautiful beaches. If you are more adventurous, there are signs that take you to a natural swimming pool, but this requires a good 40+ walk on the beach side and jungle trails (but it is well indicated). Take care of the water however, as the currents are quite strong and the waves can be quite large.

Surrounded by the jungle, the beaches in Trinidade are pristine and beautiful. You go from one beach to another by hiking up the jungle for about 20 minutes, which is an unique and distinct feature of the beaches here. The trails are well marked, and you can see families with young children doing the hike. So it is quite safe.

Here is how you get to Trinidade without using an expensive tour guide. There are buses to Trinidade from Paraty Rodoviaria every hour or so. Take a bus around 9 AM from Paraty. Get down at the last stop. Walk about 500m along the unpaved road to Praia do Meio. This is the road by the parking lot and you can ask any local about Praia do Meio. Praia do Meio has a nice restaurant, toilets and a fresh water shower.

From here, you can either take a boat to Piscina natural pool or hike through the jungle. Walking is highly recommended. First you have to cross a small stream to go to the trail head. From the trail head it is about 400m to praia do cachadaco. This is a beautiful sandy beach. You will see a big warning about this being a dangerous beach without any lifeguards. I didn't venture too deep into the water but it seemed quite safe to me. There is also one restaurant named after the beach.

From praia do cachadaco, the piscina natural water pool is another 800m or 25 minute hike through the jungle. You can see it from praia do cachadaco but have to hike to get there. It is well worth the hike.

If you are really up for it, you can visit also Praia Brava. For this, You can ask the bus driver to let you off at Praia Brava, about 5 minutes before Trinidade where the road makes a sharp right turn. There is a huge boulder on the road and a small stream crosses the road, and runs into the ocean. This is great place for pictures since there are many boulders/rocks, and the ocean here is popular with surfers because of the waves. You can either walk all the way to Praia do Meio from here or flag down the next bus after an hour or so.

Is one of the most beautiful beach in the region. You need to cross a trail, 20 minutes. There is structure, a nice restaurant and you can walk more 20 minutes and go to natural pool.

Go to Trindade, pass the Praia do Meio (full of people), cross the river, hike a bit through the forest, and, tada!!, you're in paradise... great place to spend the day, bring your picnic or whatever and just relax in the most incredible surroundings. Best beach in/around Paraty. No problem with kids, they will love the hike.

Don't let all the other beaches in Paraty fool you! This one is totally worth the effort. We wanted to be a little adventurous and decided to take the public transport from the central bus station in Paraty to trindade (3.5$R per person!!). The ride itself is an experience as the roads are all windy and uphill till you get to the first beach. Skip all of that (including Meio beach) and trek through the rainforest (about 15min) and you will finally end up at this gem!! The place is totally private and peaceful. We had a snack at one of the two cafes there. The water was super clean and clear with waves good for bodysurfing. Definitely worth visiting while in Paraty!!!

Awesome natural pool for diving, but potentially very full. Try early mornings or late afternoons.
Despite of that one can see several stunning wildlife animals such as fish, sea urchin, eels and even turtles.

Bus ride was 3R$ each, took about 40 mins. Bus very crowded but you can stand. Bus terminates very close to beach, many tables and chairs on beach just pay for what you eat and drink. Prices were good, service excellent! Water is lovely, clear and warm! Restaurant has washrooms. A great day out. Bus runs hourly in each direction, on the hour.
