There are so many things to do when you stay in the heart of the city. The Hilton is walking distance to a lot of them.

I am amazed at the progress that Baton Rouge downtown has made over the past ten years, No longer an empty shell, it is vibrant, fun, and surely worth seeing. It has been truly transformed into a great downtown area.

Was lucky to get a tour...this architectural beauty was built in something like 14 months...almost unbelievable, lots of detail, lots of history and scandal...amazing view at the top.

Even with the major construction, it was still fairly easy to get around town. Our group was touring the downtown/government areas, so we ate lunch at Main Street Market. This was a nice experience for the group. They choose everything from the fresh salads to the lunch specials. This is a very unique place to dine.

There are a lot of things to do here. If you've lived there your entire life, you've probably done it all. There is the state capital, the old state capital, the USS Kidd, and several other museums.

It's getting nicer and nicer. The old buildings are getting renovated. Many nice restaurants have moved in. There are museums and free parks. A great place to stop for lunch on a day of leisure.

Very safe area to walk around. A lot of street construction going on for improvements. Quite a few things to see in a square mile.

Many restaurants, theaters, hotels, sights & shops... Worth parking your car and strolling from the casino to the library to the Mississippi River to the Red Stick farmers market.
