The Museum owns 5.5 miles of track, from just west of Versailles, to the bluff overlooking the Kentucky River. Young's High Bridge, also known as the Tyrone High Bridge, continues across the river to the Anderson County side. Each Saturday and Sunday between late Spring and early Fall, the train departs the station at 2 pm for a 90 minute long ride. Currently the train travels to the end of the track, at the edge of the Young's High Bridge. Passengers may disembark to view the top of the bridge and the surrounding scenery. Upon re-boarding, the train returns to the station. We have several types of Special Events throughout the year, to help garner interest in our Museum!

Didn't Get to Ride the Trains, but Lots of Learning on the Property and Love to See the Old Trains

The pumpkin patch train ride was a delight! Train personnel were very informative & pleasant. The ride lasted approximately 2 hours with two stops. Beautiful and scenic trip during the Kentucky autumn season.

Sadly, the trains only run and the museum is only open on the weekend, and we couldn't visit on the weekend. I understand that it's impossible to keep it staffed on the volunteer basis, but would have loved to see inside and to have taken a ride. Still, strolling the grounds for free was educational. I learned some new things... More

My husband's father worked for the railroad for year, so I thought he would enjoy this visit. We also had our youngest granddaughter with us and I thought she would enjoy the train ride into the county. As it turned out, we all enjoyed this visit! The museum is small but just full of a lot of information about railroads... More

No photo ops; way overgrown brush restricts photos of beautiful horse farms. Nice thought, but need more attention paid to detail!

I wanted to love this so much. 100 year old trains (awesome!), a jaunt through the Kentucky countryside (even better!) and it's for a nonprofit organization (support local!). The reality of this is an entirely different story. The train itself is pretty neat because of its age but the ride is extremely slow, hot, not very scenic (unless you like... More

Our group of SMART RVing veterans thoroughly enjoys a great trip. The volunteers who run the museum made it easy to set up for our group and provided a very entertaining ride through some beautiful KY countryside

We were disappointed in the train ride. The shrubbery, trees, and foliage obscured most of the views, which was all horse farms. Couldn't take a decent picture at all. At the end of the line, the train stopped at the railroad trellis and we were able to get pics of the valley. Also, if you're wanting a quiet, adult adventure,... More

Enjoyed the museum but the train ride was awesome. Not very fast paced but very enjoyable and relaxing.

We got there early for the 2 PM train ride, too early to keep a two year old entertained. I was hoping for a bit more interactive displays in the museum and for more cars and engines to climb on outside. Don't get me wrong, for train buffs there is a wealth of memorabilia and photos to look at; plus... More
