We visited on a Monday. The gift shop and cabins were not open. It would be a nice stop for history buffs or a Lincoln enthusiast. There is a golf course that looked to be in really nice shape.

It’s an interesting historical marker, but not much here, and the signage is in pretty bad shape. It’s a nice spot to stretch your legs; I’d say you can see everything there is so see in an hour or less.

Nice stop. Rangers were very informative. Intresting history of how the family lost the land. Be sure to also stop at the other Lincoln park with the "original cabin". Both on the same road

If you love history, chances are you love historical places. This is an interesting stop if you're on your way through the area, but I probably wouldn't travel a great distance JUST to see it. There isn't a lot to see, but I still really enjoyed it.

We dedicated a day of our KY trip to Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Homestead was one of our stops. We enjoyed this stop and learning about the Lincoln family.

If you’re interested in the Lincoln history, then you should include a visit here. Or if you just want to spend a little time exploring a lovely state park, don’t miss this gem. Start in the visitors center. I spoke to a very knowledgeable man working there and he was willing and eager to talk about the site. I can’t remember his name but he shared the title of a book he was reading, “There I Grew Up”. There is a replica of the cabin of President Lincoln’s grandmother, Bersheba. Don’t miss it because they have some pieces made by her son, Thomas Lincoln. There is also an original cabin that was where Thomas Lincoln courted and proposed to Nancy Hanks. It was moved to this site from its original location not far from here. There is another building that was owned and believed built by Mordecai Lincoln, Abraham’s uncle. Side note: great restaurant in town called Mordecai’s. I highly recommend a visit to this area and Lincoln Homestead State Park.

Golf course is beautiful; however, the sand pits are hard as rocks with hardly any sand in them. The fairways don't have a good stand of grass.

We had a little extra time on our way to Maker's Mark distillery, so decided to stop at the Lincoln Homestead state park. You can take a guided tour - or just wander through the buildings yourself. Only $3/ person either way. Cabins are well restored and many period furnishings inside. Really worthwhile for anyone interested in Lincoln, early Kentucky or pioneer history. We were just going to "zip through", but the volunteer guide had so many interesting and informative stories that we spent over a half hour and would have stayed longer, but needed to get going or we would miss the last tour at Maker's Mark. it's only a slight "detour" through some very pretty scenery if you are heading to Maker's Mark on the 55 or 555. Plan about 25-30 minutes drive from here to Maker's Mark.

My husband and I golf. We have never asked for a refund on golf or left before finishing the front nine...until today. Fairways and greens in BAD shape. Blind landings and narrow fairways on slopes resulted in MANY lost balls. worst state park course we have been too (many)

There is a definite sense of history there especially in front of the fireplace where A Lincoln's father proposed to Nancy Hanks.
