Beautiful place for a walk

The price for the fort is $8 for an adult. It starts with a short video that provides a condensed story of the fort's history. Afterward you are free to roam the grounds and visit the various buildings. Many areas are manned by people in period costumes working on various aspects of life in the settlement. These people have not... More

This campground is close to our home and we camp there often. They have great amenities and a lot is scheduled events. A great campground to go along with Fort Boonesborough.

We recently stayed at the campground. The young woman who checked us in....told us the wrong way to pull into our site. The sites are small and very close together, so we hooked up backwards because we would have had to drive all the way out and come back around to pull in the correct way. Too cramped for us,... The main attraction is the reconstructed Fort Boonesborough which was not yet open for the season. We were able to take a short trail from the campground to the fort and take exterior pictures. Bathrooms, showers and laundry were adequate if not pristinely clean. The staff were nice and the camp store had a good selection. We could not reach... More

Nice, off the road park with access to the river. Picnic facilities and wide open spaces. Also historical markers and a campground.

My husband's company picnic was here last summer. I had not visited the park since I was a kid. The picnic facility and open green space was beautiful. We decided to camp for the long weekend. I was disappointed with the camping area. Spaces are way too close together and there are so many RV's, etc in one area. I... More

Took the kids here to go for a walk and play at the park. Lots of trails to follow and it looks so beautiful in Autumn. I can imagine it would be really busy here in summer as it's got great picnic spots and camping facilities including fire pits, electric/water hook ups, out door pool and several play parks.

We found this place by chance and I'm happy we decided to check it out. My favorite part was the candle making exhibit and the axe throwing (don't remember the name but you had to sign a waiver to throw the axe). The fort is educational, well kept and lots of fun! We enjoyed our time here and recommend to... More

The country-side is very beautiful and a great place to ride. The park is well kept and it is interesting to see the original site of Boonesborough. If you want to visit the reconstructed fort, be sure to check their hours of operation.

This was the second time I have come to the reenactment. I have learned something new each time. The fort does a good job condensing the story of the 11 day siege into a 1 hour program. There are other activities going on also to give a feel of what life was like in Kentucky in 1778.
