I highly recommend visiting the Louisville Waterfront Park while in the area! There are playgrounds, skateboarding, waterfalls, history, entertainment, and a gorgeous view of the Ohio River. Don't miss out on a walk across the Big 4 Bridge while here.

Walk, jog or ride your bike along the paved pathways of the park. Let the kids play on the playground or splash pad. Rent a bicycle for one to four seaters. Rent a Segway. Attend a concert, festival, or event. Walk or ride a bike...More

We walked to the park from our 4th street hotel. The walk was nice and the park is very pretty with a walkway along the river.

I love the water front for its relaxing qualities. You can feed the ducks or walk the bridge. The view of the river is amazing and there are some great historical facts located in this area.

We were on a road trip and saw the former -train-tracks-turned-into-a-pedestrian-walkway from the highway. It is stunning. We got off the highway and walked the bridge just before sunset for a much needed break. It was extremely well done, the park is lovely, and it...More

Lovely place to take a stroll. You can rent bikes at the bike station and take it along the water front or in the park. There are benches under the trees. A place of tranquility. Enjoyed the visit.

There are a couple of restaurants. Joe's Crab shack comes to mind. But I don't believe there is outdoor seating and dog friendly. If you go up a few blocks off of the river, there are up around Main street.
