We took a stroll around Old Louisville while giving a tour to some out-of-town friends who were staying in a nearby townhouse for the Kentucky Derby. If you like Victorian architecture, this neighborhood is worth spending a little time walking through.

Old Louisville is a beautiful area. We were given a guide of the significant houses by the information center downtown which had a short description of quite a few of the houses listed by streets. Our stroll started off with the intention of looking at...More

Old Louisville is an amazing area full of immaculately restored homes. I highly recommend making Old Louisville part of your visit to this interesting city. Taking a tour of the area with Louisville Historic Tours makes it all the better.

The collection of Victorian homes is striking. It definitely worth a drive thru. You also can see that the area is rehabbed with new money.

Once we found the visitor center, we got some great information. It is located in the middle of the park, behind the police station. We circled a few times before we found it. Once we parked, they have a great brochure covering the streets and...More

This area has been revitalized and is a wonderful place to see how the rich and famous lived over a century ago. The architecture is fabulous and the neighborhood a testament to the victorian age. A great walk through a stately older neighborhood.

This walk was beautiful. We walked up and down 3rd Street which had beautiful homes. We also went down a road off by 4th and Magnolia which had a lot of old homes, statues, and beautiful water fountains. Definitely a must see.

There were only about 10 of us on this tour and it was an easy walk through the history of Old Louisville. Loads of old houses (expensive mansions) along the route. We needed to stay near the tour guide as she would begin talking and...More

A nice place for a walk. The streets around central park have some very nice well maintained old Louisville homes and bed and breakfasts, You could spend an hour or two walking and admiring the real estate.

Not sure if this is the place for this review, but we took the historic home walking tour with author David Domini and it was great. There are other reviews on his tours with good descriptions of the sights. David is knowledgable and a great...More

We drove around quite a bit. Visited Muhammad Ali,s grave where we walked around and felt safe. The hotel we stayed in was a short walk to a restaurant where we didn,t feel threatened in any way. I would imagine as long as... More
