This is a great place to walk, bike, or picnic. Beautiful landscaping and walking trails. The creek running through here is relaxing.

My Sister-in-law had Thanksgiving and they live just down the road from Cherokee Park. After stuffing ourselves, we took a brief walk around and stumbled onto the park near the Daniel Boone sculpture. My wife and I walked around the parked for about half an...More

Great place to walk, watch deer, and just enjoy. Don't go after dark, there have been some muggings late at night, but we felt very safe in daytime.

We walked from our Air Bnb and enjoyed lovel walkways and a beautiful overlook. A bonus was watching the dog walkers allow their dogs to ‘meet’ friends they encountered. If you are good with walking a bit, you can also go across the way to...More

Overall, this park is absolutely beautiful, despite the ongoing construction. It provides an active place for families, pets and friends. However, the park can be quite nefarious after dark and in no way would I want to be there without a weapon of some sort....More

Beautiful walking in the park with a pleasant view of the nearby homes, and of course it's all free.

Nice to have a park in the middle of the city, and it is pretty. They also have small dirt trails branching off of the main asphalt trail.

By far favorite park in Louisville! Very large and many trails to check out you can lay out for a picnic, go for a hike, or walk your dog. There are many feilds to play sports and a dog park, too!

Louisville was experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures the first week in October but we still wanted to get out and walk. We found Cherokee Park ideal with all of its shady trails. We could easily walk 6 miles mostly in the shade, some trails are paved...More

No fee to get in, and I am with you on the age and all, but we ride/walk and I suggest the fall to do the walk/ride. It is hilly but I suggest to drive it and pick your area, some hills are worse than others.
