Beautiful Drive through the KY Countryside

If you want a nice drive without too much traffic, nice scenery, no billboards, etc., then Blue Grass is perfect! Make sure you have gas in the tank, as filling stations are few!

Although it is just a highway, it was very lovely in spring. We drove past fields of gorgeous yellow flowers, blooming dogwoods and red buds, as well as large rolling pastures and horse farms. The scene was very pastoral. There were lots of signs for distilleries along the way, but no billboards. The services were limited and there are no... More

Like much of our highway infrastructure, this road could use some work. But on a sunny springtime day, the countryside was lovely.

I used this roadway for over 20 years. It is well maintained and runs through idyllic rolling hills. Crossing the Cumberland Plateau in the spring or fall is a sight for sore eyes. I could always make good time on this road and never once was stopped by law enforcement.

It's a good road to drive; HOWEVER, get your gas, food, restrooms, etc., before you get on it, whether that be in Lexington or Elizabethtown. Very difficult to determine where to exit on the Parkway for these items(and there are no rest stops), as there is next to no signage, and the businesses, for the most part, are not within... More

This is a beautiful highway wandering through the rolling countryside of Kentucky. There were no trucks so traffic moved easily.

Decent road leading thru some of the back areas of KY. There are sites to be seen off the parkway, but it's nice just getting a sense for the landscapes of this area of middle Kentucky and seeing life at a slower pace. Pleasant driving overall, but beware of tourists and tractors occasionally entering/exiting the road.

I wasn't impressed. Maybe it's the time of year we went. I'm sure it's very pretty in the fall. We were only on it for about 20 miles

Loretto KY is a just a small Kentucky town in the middle of nowhere. As the closest town to the Makers Mark Distillery, I guess it has something to talk about, however Bardstown is the real gem on the area. The state and county road as well as the interstate are all under construction in totality, hope they finish before... More

Great road, minimal traffic, 70mph speed limit, easy on/off. Plenty of access points to all local areas.
