It's easy to get to from Lexington, but still has that out-in-the-country feel. The trails I saw were nicely maintained. Would love to come out and spend more time here.

Walk through native grasslands, rolling hills, rocky overlooks, and old forests.Trails are medium intensity but well marked. A modern nature center greets you.

If you're looking for a longer hike in some nice varied terrain that's close to Lexington, this is one of your few options. There's good parking to start, a nice visitor's center and several miles of trails that include a nice Kentucky River Palisades overlook, creeks, the remains of an old mill, moderate rolling hills, some open fields and quite... Raven Run is a great place for everyone! It has trails to accomodate everyone from beginner to advanced. We even took our double stroller and managed to get in some great exercise. We attended the Butterfly hike with a guide who talked about all of the different species and gardens. She was very knowledgeable. Now, my father-in-law wants the Kaufman... More

This is the best spot for hiking in Lexington. It can get busy on weekends, but if you can get there during the week, it is quite peaceful. Easy trails to more difficult ones. Beautiful views and a way to get a nice hike in without a long drive.

The nature center has interesting exhibits to view. The guide will tell you about the different trails. There are maps available. We hiked to the river which involved some climbing. Nice, brisk walk. Beautiful area.
