As part of our staycation in Lexington, we did a little double stroller hiking. This means after 10 minutes both boys (4.5 & 2.5) decided to ride in the stroller. Our stroller is made for some off roading and we anticipated a nap session, so...More

We wanted to get in some exercise after the long car ride, so we decided to go to Raven Run for a hike. It was more of a hike than we anticipated. The trails were very rough and in some places were filled in with...More

The park and trails can get very popular so beat the crowds and get there when the gates open at 9am. There are a great variety of trail lengths and difficulty to choose from so there really is something for everyone. We chose to take...More

My family and I attended one of the nature walks at night. It was tons of fun and interesting. Great outdoor activity for the little ones.

I've been to Raven Run twice and each time have had such a fun time each visit. Only thing I'd say is on the map they rate the trails easy to hard and I don't think the ratings accurately reflect the level of difficultly.

This is by far the beat place for family outtings. The scenery is majestic. All the colors that are everywhere, makes this a great place for picnics, walks, hiking (they have hiking trails) and just to be close to nature. Some nights they have Star...More

There are a variety of trails with wildflowers galore. The trail to the overlook of the Kentucky River is mostly in the shade; there are benches for rest along the route. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a picnic and a camera.

Love Raven's Run. Plenty of trails, scenery and wildlife. Only two drawbacks for me - #1 just too many people (this can be a good thing, but I crave a bit more serenity); and #2 closes too early - especially in the Summer when it...More

Nice place for hiking. Trails clearly marked. Easier to more difficult trails. Didn't make it to the overlook but heard it's very nice. Would go back again.

Lovely place for a hike. Great trails and not too crowded. The visitor center is basic but interesting and offers information on hikes and things to look out for. Good range of trails and great views of the Kentucky river.

I'm sorry Linda. I was just visiting the area from North Carolina. I do not know the area well enough to give you suggestions on where to go. Hope you find what you are looking for!

This location is outside the city of Lexington Kentucky, the second largest city in the Commonwealth. There are plenty of places to eat but you will have to drive about 5 miles.

They do not. It's a preserve so they won't allow pets. We take our dogs to the Gorge.
