We visited on a very hot day, and most of the animals were drowsy, particularly the kangaroos, who barely even stood up. There is still a lot to learn for kids, and while we didn't attend any shows, our niece and nephew very much enjoyed petting the animals, feeding the birds, and going on the cave tour. The cave tour... More

Just visited this place today and we had a blast! There is nowhere else in the United States that you can go in and pet kangaroos! It was a very unique find, as it wasn't a large crowded zoo and everything was very relaxed. Many of the animals were just roaming around and you could go up and pet them.... More

I'm so glad I found this on groupon! When we pulled up I had my doubts. I was with my husband and my parents. I was afraid that this was only a place for families with young children! Certainly that was the demographic but was fun for all! The cave tour was spectacular and better than those at mammoth cave... More

They were all wonderful and made sure we had the best experience possible! We can't wait for next time and can't believe it took us this long to visit in the first place!

The animals were quite happy, some of them were hot but that's just summer in Kentucky. The Staff varied from snarky know-it-alls to offensive, gross old men. Being able to interact with most of the animals made it up for me though. The Sheep Herding show should instead be called "A brief introduction to sheep" as that is all it... More

Positives- This is one of the few places you can pet and feed a kangaroo. Feeding the birds offers a great photo op of colorful birds landing on arms, heads, shoulders, etc. Animal show is informative for older children. The cave offers a nice short tour for older children and adults who have not had such an experience. Negatives- The... More

No kids in my party, but the ones I saw were having a ball. The animals are very relaxed and under little stress-we got to pet the kangaroos! Feeding the Lorikeets was a blast! ONE WARNING! If you wish to visit the Onyx Cave you must be able bodied and not claustrophobic at all.

Given the cost of admission and the promotion of various "shows", I expected a level of professionalism and fine tuning that was not present. * None of the programs utilize wireless mics, making it very difficult - if not impossible - to hear the speaker. * Staff decided to weedeat during the neighboring sheep demo, and then mow the lawn... I took my six and seven year old grandkids using a groupon as well as a 20-something year old friend. Animals and birds from kangaroos and dingos to emus and kookaburras. Lots of opportunities to feed animals (there is a small cost) or pet them which thrilled us all. Our FAVORITE interactive experience was going into the lorikeet cage and... More

Visit was on a Saturday mid morning. The first thing was the cave. It was nice and our guide was well informed and entertaining. The zoo part was good but younger children would enjoy it more than our teenage boys. They seem to really like petting the kangaroos. I am glad we found the Groupon and purchased it.
