Sunset beach has the most breath-taking sunsets on the East Coast. You have to see for yourself. It is at the end of the Cape May island and in the evenings they do a flag raising ceremony honoring our war veterans.

We spend a week in Cape May and spend some time twice on this beach, best beach in Cape May. The stones to collect are fantastic.

I visited Sunset Beach on each of the 4 nights that I was in Cape May at the suggestion of a "local". Each night found the sunset getting progressively better. People were very respectful of each other and of the natural beauty around us. Highly...More

Very small curving strip of beach at the southern end of Cape May. Also known for the sunset beach diamonds ( quart pieces) which was ashore in the tide. Also wonderful small tumbled pebbles! Take a bag or bucket!

How is this beach for kids under 5? Are there life guards present? We stayed in wildwood last year and while it was fun, it was over crowded . I get the sense from reading the reviews that staying in cape may is a lot more quiet

The beach is great to play on and find Cape May Diamonds, seashells and sea glass but not so much for swimming. No Lifeguards here. There are lifeguards at designated beaches in Cape May and Cape May Point beaches.

Is there an entrance fee. Other Cape May beaches cost $6 for a day pass.
