Ashton Winery is an excellent choice for any traveler. We were on our way to Mosselbay when we had a flat tire. The owner and his wife immediately assisted us and ensured that we reach our destination safely. Upon entering the Ashton Kelder, we were greeted with kindness. Their wine was well-balanced and achieved perfect harmony between the five components of acid, alcohol, sugar, tannin, and water. I would definitely recommend the prize-winning Sauvignon Blanc 2022. Their sandwiches are delicious with fresh, homemade bread, accompanied by their own sauce. The picturesque view and break away from city life are perfect for a weekend or holiday road trip. The affordable prices are just one of the many reasons to make this a "must-visit" wine farm in the area.

We had a lovely chocolate and wine pairing - the best way to discover new wines for me.
We didn't really have explainations on the wines we were tasting, as the waiter was new and didn't really know much about it.
It didn't disturb me as I'm not a wine connaisseur, but I assume it would be a problem for others...
Worth a try...

Stopped by for a quick wine and chocolate pairing. The hosts were very friendly and the wine of course was delicious. The chocolates although paired well with each wine they were quite small and only allowed for 1 or 2 bites. That is the only criticism I can say. The venue is amazing and the view even more spectacular overlooking the wine valley.

Ashton cellar is always one of our stops to Cape Town. There's nothing better than their ice cold grape juice on a hot summer's day. Their wine is of very good quality as well.

We has a personal reason (my partner's late husband's name) to visit this winery which is situated quite close to the rather busy R60 main road into Ashton. So not exactly the most tranquil of settings. The tasting option was interesting - a selection of six varieties with six different chocolate accompaniments, accompanied by tasting notes for each combination. Slightly surprised to find the wine we then chose to buy (actually at the top end of a very reasonably priced range) being out of stock. No sales pitch pressure though that applies to most RSA wineries in our experience.

Thank you so much for your review. It is quite unfortunate that we did not have the limited release wines to purchase but we only make limited stock of these 2 wines, we are however busy with the harvest season so we do hope to have the new releases in stock by month end.

Wow, what a nice surprise! My husband and I stumbled upon this place during our latest trip of the Robertson region and we were pleasantly surprised. Ashton Winery makes delicious white and red wines, that everyone can afford. The setting is beautiful, its child friendly since it has a jungle gym and the wine tasting is absolutely free. It's worth the journey to stop here for a quick tasting and few boxes of wine - when you see the prices you'll understand that you have to buy more than just a few bottles. Oh and they deliver for free anywhere in the Western Cape!

We had the chocolate wine pairing. The wine complimented the chocolate perfectly. We also got a good amount of wine with the pairing. They have interesting wines for sale and also pear brandy with the pear in the bottle. Worth the stop.

Relaxing and friendly service. We arrived unsure what to expect and were tended to quickly and offered a few choices. We opted for wine pairing with chocolate. Best wine experience I had so far.
