We planned a trip to Danville specifically to visit this museum with my Mother in Law, who spent decades of her life creating doll houses. It was a 3 hour drive for us, and well worth it. She LOVED it, and so did my husband...More

This place is great! We arrived right as they opened the gates the day before Thanksgiving. The proprietors are exceedingly friendly and willing to discuss everything there is to know about the place (and more besides). We had 4 adults and 4 children (ages 6,5,3,...More

Extremely detailed and accurate portrayals historically, architecturally, socially, culturally! Highly recommend this museum, especially for elementary and secondary students.

The Great American Dollhouse Museum is much more than expected. I enjoyed the variety, from Victorian homes and businesses, rural cabins, to the recreation of an Appalachian coal community. There’s even a fantasy land with dragons! . Fascinating. The curator happened to be there the...More

The name could be misleading though; do not bring your little here expecting to see Barbie's Dream House or anything American Girl. The dollhouses here are miniatures. Many are quite impressive too....More

I do not know much about the "sub-culture" of miniatures and was very impressed by this place. The exhibits are by and large very impressive, and as I looked around, I really became awed by the amount of sheer work that went into making them....More

Nice collection of both miniatures and doll houses. The exhibition is loaded with good interpretation of a well structured display. There is a wide variety in the collection. It is interesting to compare the range of quality. Worth the hour or two needed to take...More

This small dollhouse museum puts on an impressive display. The amount of man-hours put into every house is apparent. I highly recommend a visit if you have an hour or two in downtown Danville.
