I really enjoyed a quick visit to the Hill of Skryne. The views are magnificent, you can see for miles. Makes a great photo stop. The castle ruins and adjacent Graveyard are charming too. Skryne is just a five minute drive from the Hill of Tara. The chapel ruins sits on top of a hill which provides a view of the royal county Meath and specifically the royal Hill of Tara where the county gets its name. An amazing place. Tight at the top of Skryne Hill. I first got to see it on my bicycle, just managing to scale the Hill behind it. It's no a long hill but it is a sharp little climb. Same on the other side. What has this to do with Skryne Castle? Well, situated on top of the hill it... More
