I like dwarf conifers so the grounds were interesting to me, but the group I was with were expecting something more...more flowers, more gardens. I have seen the artwork of Joe Downing so I knew what to expect...the group I was with found the museum...More

I visited in late November so there wasn't as much beauty as I'm sure can be seen in the spring, but I enjoyed the fall colors and the unique garden sculptures. It was a bonus to go inside and see the unique artwork. The hanging...More

The museum is dedicated to the art of the abstract painter, Joe Downing. He isn't well known in the US, even though he was born near here, grew up here, had strong ties with Western Kentucky University... but he lived most of his life in...More

If you're visiting Bowling Green, this is definitely a must-see. The arboretum has a global collection of trees and is beautiful from any angle. It's usually very quiet and peaceful. The museum is a beautiful space that features Joe Downing, one of the few American...More

With the exception of the Picasso museum in Barcelona, this is the best museum I've seen dedicated to a single artist. Each room is a beautiful display of Joe Downing's art. The grounds of the Baker Arboretum are beautiful and many of the paths are...More

We visited here for the arboretum but were disappointed. The gardens near the art museum are nice, but other that that, it really looked like natural woods rather than special planting. Part of the trail showed on the map, but we couldn't find it when...More
