My Old Kentucky Home is one of the most famous songs to have ever been written, but it is also the name of a hallowed and beautiful Kentucky farm with many rich layers of history waiting to be explored and experienced. My Old Kentucky Home is a marvel of elegance and charm, as architecturally magnificent today as it was more than two centuries ago. Your guided house by our costumed guides spans two floors of the mansion, originally named "Federal Hill." On select days, our talented guides will sing the song, "My Old Kentucky Home," for tour guests. See 170 year old antique artifacts including paintings, high-style furniture, lavish period decor, and the carefully curated interiors of Kentucky's most famous landmark.

Shadows of Federal Hill evening tour on a full moon was wonderful. Ghostly actors in each room portraying members of the Rowan family, that met an untimely death. The actors costumes and make up was great, and they did a outstanding job singing and portraying. Would recommend to others.

There is certainly no TRICK here....just a real TREAT! What a unique tour. Professional actors in each room portraying individuals connected with My Old Kentucky Home's past and history, that have passed....hence they have become "Shadows of Federal Hill". If you enjoy history coming to life( and a little "spookiness" this time of year..older kids will love this..bring the family)... More

My family and I attended the Shadows of Federal Hill Halloween event at My Old Kentucky Home. We visit many historic homes and make a point of seeking out their Halloween activities when October rolls around. We particularly enjoyed this one. We were able to purchase our tickets in advance (although some people purchased tickets at the door), which was... More

The grounds are great, but the tour of the house was something special. in addition to getting a guided tour of the house, docent gave us a fabulous a Capella rendition of Foster's "My Old Kentucky Home". What a treat. The house is a gem and the grounds have a lot to see. The furniture is mostly original and the... More

We enjoyed our visit to the Old Kentucky Home and learned quite a bit about customs of the well to do of the time period. The fact that so much of the furniture is actually from the family and the home was astounding to me; a very good window into the time period. Highly recommend this attraction.

Toured My Old KY Home today and had a lovely time. The grounds are beautiful. We were lucky enough to not only have a history tour but also information about mourning practices. My favorite part of the house and tour is that most of the furniture and belongings are original to the home. I love that!! The guides were great... More

The tour guide was dressed in period clothing and even sang 'My Old Kentucky Home' a cappella ; the home had recently been renovated and most of the furnishings were authentic. The gift shop was interesting as were the walking paths, plants and out buildings.

I was born in KY and lived there until I was 16 when my family moved to IN. As a result I had never been to many of the iconic sites. My wife and I made a long weekend trip to visit some of the Lincoln sites and My Old Kentucky Home. This iplace is the inspiration for the song... More

Our guides were dressed in period costumes and sang beautifully. They were very knowledgeable about the history of Federal Hill. The grounds and out buildings were well kept and enjoyable to tour.weather was great too. Everyone in our group enjoyed themselves a lot.
